- The game is based on the character John Clayton, Viscount Greystoke otherwise known as Tarzan who was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875 – 1950). Tarzan first appeared in the story Tarzan of the Apes which was first published in the magazine The All-Story in 1912 and as a novel in 1914. Tarzan went on to appear in a number of novels, on radio, the stage, TV and in film.
