Game Trivia:
- The game is a conversion of the arcade game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Super Kame Ninja from Konami in 1989
- The game is based on the four comic book anthropomorphic turtles who first appeared in 1984 and were created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The Turtles went on to appear in various TV shows and movies.
- When the Turtles first arrived in the UK, the name was changed to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles as it was deemed the word Ninja was related to violent connotations and was too violent for children's programs. The word Ninja has been used in the UK though for various versions.
