- Monty Python were a British comedy group who first appeared on TV with their sketch show Monty Python's Flying Circus in 1969 which ran until 1974 on the BBC. The group consisted of Graham Chapman (1941 – 1989), John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. They also appeared in various movies including Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) and Monty Python's Life of Brian (1979).
