Back of Box

ABC Caterpillar is designed to start your child's adventure in learning in a thrilling and enjoyable manner. Each three to eight year old player controls a bright green caterpillar to help him learn the alphabet and how to spell. The goal is to collect points for having the caterpillar eat the letters in the appropriate order.

There are five seperate games that can be played: Alphabet Game, First Letter Game, 3 Letter Game, 4 Letter Game, and Butterfly Draw. In the Alphabet Game, the child has the caterpillar eat the letters of the alphabet in the correct order as they float by on the screen. Should the child make an error, the computer gently informs him and will not let the caterpillar eat the letter. The goal is to collect 26 points and have the caterpillar transform into a beautiful butterfly. In the First Letter Game, the goal is to eat the first letter of an object that is pictured at the top top of the screen. The caterpillar is controlled as in the Alphabet Game, but the letters are stationary. The 3 Letter Game is the next step toward knowledge of words. The child must spell the 3 letter objects that are shown at the top of the screen. As each correct letter is gobbled by the caterpillar, it appears underneath the object pictured. The 4 Letter Game is played with objects that are spelled with 4 letters. Butterfly Draw is a recreational program that allows the child to draw pictures on the screen.

ABC Caterpillar is a marvelous tool for beginning your child's quest for knowledge.

ABC Caterpillar is ready to run on your Commodore 64® computer with 1541 disk drive.
