During development, Rare initially considered offering support for the Expansion Pak. The developers then decided that they wanted all players to have the same experience and dropped support for the Expansion Pak. However, the initial release of Jet Force Gemini displayed Expansion Pak support on the front of the box.

This box variant fixed the initial print run's mistake that stated that the game supported the Expansion Pak. This revised box art variant reads "Designed for N64 Rumble Pak" directly on box instead of a sticker covering the Expansion Pak misprint.
