Hot off the heels of the Collectorcast Episode 2 which explored our favorite places to pick up games online were following up with the obvious, the best local areas to hunt for games!

Well discuss several obvious places and explore the ups and downs of each, but with any luck well be able to shed some light on a few unexpected options that might be available close to home.

As usual we dig through the RF Generation forums and blogs since our last recording and highlight some of the best finds over the last few weeks. And WOW were there some awesome scores this time around. If you haven't been keeping up with the new posts for a while then the Collectorcast will be worth a listen to for that alone.

Good stuff, guys-- especially the garage-sale tips.

Heck, even I learned a few new things.

BTW I hear you about that "other guy."

All right, it's off to bed with me...

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but I did check out that yardsaletreasuremap.com and I'm loving it already. I've been wanting something like that for years and had no idea this existed. This could definitely cut down on my travel time and gas.

That Yardsale treasuremap is pretty awesome.

And Im working on getting the rest of those worlds of power books there is only 8 in the original series and 2 in the junior edition series.

Coolness Smiley

thanks

My wife thought the mention of the Father's Day gift was hilarious.  Another good podcast gents!  Not sure that I heard you mention it, but "antique" shops are pretty good places to look for older games.  I've been surprised about the number of 2600 games I've found at those.  I guess each person has their own definition of antique.

@singlebanana: I thought we did mention it, but if not we certainly meant to. We've chatted about that off air several times.

You probably did, I was in and out of the room several times while listening tonight.  Great podcast.

I was punished for buying too much stuff?! Shenanigans!  Just wanted to clarify that the Little Ninja Brothers I bought on ebay was just the cart, I already had the box/manual.

@wildbil52: We are considering doing a spin-off show. "The Wildbil52 Hour - Hear about his amazing last 2 weeks of collecting!"

@Crabmaster2000:How about "The Wildbil 52" and make it a 52 minute show?

@wildbil52:I think you're on to something Wink

Good job guys. Liked it a lot.

Two of the smaller towns nearby share a printed newspaper which is simply 10 or so pages of ads people put in trying to sell their stuff. It comes out twice a week. The funny thing is that, those townspeople also make great use of craigslist. You were talking about how people in your area use the newspaper so much, I wanted to let you know it happens elsewhere too Smiley

@nupoile: I had a hunch we weren't the only ones up here Cheesy

Any chance of getting the Collectorcasts available as MP3 files?  I'd like to listen to them in my car.  Yes, I know I could convert them myself but I don't want to. Cheesy

@Hungrymoose: Just download them from Podomatic or subscribe via iTunes. They are MP3 format at those locations.

Finally got to listen.  Great job, as always.  I figure if you make me antsy to get out on The Hunt then you've done your job well.

Also great on mentioning Blockbuster (RIP).  I've gotten quite a few games over the years at extremely good prices from Block.  They will be missed.

how did I not know about yardsaletreasuremaps? So sick! Thanks guys!

@noiseredux: Cheesy Improving the world, one podcast at a time.
