We interrupt your regularly scheduled program to bring you January 2018's edition of
RF Generation's Site News! In this issue, we set a tickler for our upcoming Site Donation Drive, announce our February 2018 community playthrough title, and of course, thank those members who sent in submissions to our site and registered approvals during the month of December 2017. Happy New Year and thanks for keeping it on Channel 3!
REMEMBER: If you have any news about upcoming events or topics that you think the site needs to hear about, please PM singlebanana and put "RFG Site News" in the subject line. Who knows, maybe your news will make our front page!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2018 RF GENERATION SITE DONATION DRIVE
It's almost time for this year's site donation drive to support a good cause and give back to RF Generation. RF Generation is a free, no advertising or pop-ups, non-profit site in which all database contributions come from member submissions. Our unpaid staff works hard to update and improve database content, keep front page articles fresh and informative, and work tirelessly on podcasts for your listening pleasure. However, the costs associated with running this site are not free (...or cheap) and we need YOUR help to keep our servers running into 2019. All donations will go directly to our server account and our goal is to raise at least $1500 by February 28th, which combined with donations from the previous year, will keep us going through the year. I will provide updates on the front page throughout February to help monitor how close we are to obtaining our goal and thank all donors by name for their contributions. Starting February 1st, we ask that you donate any amount you can, if you are able. If you can only donate a few dollars, that amount goes a long way in helping us reach our goal.
For the past two years, our staff has donated some fabulous raffle prizes for our fund drive and I am in the process of trying to get some lots together to make this happen. If you are a member and are interested in donating to this year's raffle, please send a PM to
singlebanana. If we can put a few lots together, we will have another raffle this year and draw names at the completion of the fund drive. I will be sure to post an update to the front page regarding whether the raffle will take place and the rules as we get closer to February. Thank you!

FEBRUARY 2018 COMMUNITY PLAYTHROUGH
Since the last two playthroughs have been on the short side, GrayGhost81 and I decided it was time to pick a title where our participants would have to put in a bit more playtime. As many of our followers know, the two of us love our RPGs and we tend to drop a few of them in throughout the year. This time, we've decided to do one that fits the overarching theme for the month of February...at least in namesake. Next month, love is in the air (our love for RPGs that is!) as we tackle one of the first RPGs released for the 32-bit era, Konami's
Vandal Hearts.
Vandal Hearts is not one of the more commonly known RPGs released on the PS1, but over the years, it has developed quite the cult following. So how will this 1997 (NA) tactical RPG fare compared to arguably one of, if not
the best RPG console generations of all time? There's only one way to truly find out....join us as we traverse through the Republic of Ishtaria in February!
We hope that you are as excited about this pick as we are, so be sure to grab yourself a copy today! Also, please join in to discuss the game by signing up on our
Vandal Hearts discussion thread located
HERE.
