When I sit back and think of some of my top games of all times, one of the first games that come to mind is Resident Evil 4. Don't get me wrong, the first three are great, but everything that they reinvented about this game for the series is amazing. Now I know some of you will say that the old camera views made the game what it is, and with the over the sholder view it does not feel like a RE game. While I will say with the fixed camera the game is a lot less scary, the game did have me on the edge of my seat for a few parts.  So the question I am posting for the members of RFG today is: Can RE5 match the awesomeness that RE4 brought us when it first came out? Now, let me make sure you understand what I am saying. I am not talking about taking RE4 in one hand and RE5 in the other and talking about which one is better at this time. No, I am talking about looking at RE4 when it came out and looking at RE5 now. So, what do you guys think?

It looks to me like RE4.2
Gameplay looks the same, it won't reinvent anything, most you can hope for is just more of the same. Personally I could never get past the first escort mission in RE4 before I got annoyed. Damn parasites piss me off, I want some real zombies.

It'll have to be really good to be "as good" as RE4 was at its time.

I think it is only going to be what RE4 was. In other words, the exact same thing new environment.

I know I will miss the excellent controls on the Wii version of RE4 (unless, somehow, RE5 will be ported to Wii, which is highly unlikely, and would not look good anyway). I guess I just like actually aiming at the enemies, instead of using my thumbs.

Agree: Resident Evil 4 is in my all-time top ten games. Game is brilliant, played through it on the Game Cube and then returned to it again with the Wii version. The game is perfect in my view. If RE5 is HD version of RE4 then it will be great but they've got some innovations like Co-op which should make it even better.

Im afraid RE5 will be too much like RE4. I like RE4 as a game. It is my least favorite RE game. I really look forward to the amazing story that RE5 will surely bring.

As long as the enemy AI gets better it will top RE4. That and your partner also looks useful this time unlike that bimbo chick you had to drag around you.

RE5 is just Capcom.
Like with Metroid. Why after so many years nobody created a metroid game???
The fact the creator was not intrested in creating another game. If a game was made while alive he would have hell to pay. More importantly by Amerikans and not Japanese comes to mind.
Or with Kirby who is licensed to the creator. This is why Nintendo never calls games without him Dreamland four, five, six, and so on. Everything is just nintendo Milkng kirby.
Okay that is why people need to understand the world they are messing with. When you play a game you dive into the hearts of there manifestors. Not just collect rocks and kill kill kill.
