I just finished watching Star Trek - The Animated Series.

This series was even shorter lived than the original series lasting only 20 some episodes. It first aired in 1973 & 74. I remember watching it as a kid but only vaguely. I thought it was very well done. The original cast was back to do the voice work ( minus Walter Koenig - though he did write an episode) as well as many on the original writers like David Gerrod and DC Fontana.

It was very high concept and "techie" just like pretty much every incarnation of Star Trek. I can see why it didn't last as a Saturday morning cartoon, though it did win an Emmy as best new childrens show.

Watched in the last couple days...

Loser - Not a bad film, nothing spectacular.

Phone Booth - Liked the movie, hated the ending...

Cellular - Not bad at all, surprised me actually.

Twins - I'll watch anything with Arnold OR Danny Devito in it. Love it!

Been watching a lot of Lost lately, mostly season 3. Also watched some of the first season of The Wonder Years, as well as the first season of Family Ties.

Sweeney Todd was on HBO tonight. This movie was excellent. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.

"There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
and the vermin of the world inhabit it
and its morals aren't worth what a pig could spit
and it goes by the name of London."

Casino Royale - (2006) - A

It was great. I enjoyed that it was more realistic than previous Bond movies.

You mean like the bit where Bond used the defribullator on himself?

I was just talking about Casino Royale on another forum. I've only seen it once and it was a while ago but from what I remember, it was just a long movie about some people playing poker. I couldn't get into it and then it suddenly ended. Daniel Craig was a wooden actor as Bond.

It was much more realistic than previous Bond movies.

Brosnan could go through an entire fight and afterwards his hair would still be perfect. Or like when Brosnan is chasing the bad guy in GoldenEye on the crane (or whatever it is...) above the emptied lake and enters a hatch like it's the 200th time he'd done that.

I'm not saying it's realistic as in "Oooh, that's all 100% possible." but it feels realistic whereas the last 3-4 Bond movies were just downright rediculous. (Remember Brosnan hanging from the clock just before the waterfall?)

If you couldn't get into Casino Royale then I'm sure you had already decided it was going to suck even before seeing it.

watched last night.....

Dirty Dancing:  Twentieth Anniversary Edition - (1987) - A-

Reason for score -- oddly enough, i have never seen this one....my fiancee wanted to watch the copy i bought her awhile ago, so i said ok....the acting was subpar, and it was a predictable romance story, but it was worth watching...

Sweeney Todd:  The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street - (2007) - B

Reason for score -- this one was good, but it didn't live up to all they hype.....
