watched Strange Wilderness last night. what a STUPID movie. it did have a few laughs but it felt like they were making it up as they went along. Jonah Hill was awful in this one.

watched today...

Robocop:  The Criterion Collection (Laserdisc) - (1987) - A

Reason for score -- great movie...have it on Criterion DVD as well, but I have to say, it looked really good on laserdisc, surprisingly....

Ya know what I watched last night.....about 15 minutes of Hannah Montana on Disney Channel.  My fiancee and I were packing up my home theater for the move to our new apartment tomorrow, and it was on and we were curious to see what all the little girls rave over.  And, I have to say, it was absolutely terrible.  I would never let my children watch that.  I felt like I was getting stupider ever second it was on.  Then I unplugged the cable box and lost the show......oh well...no loss.

Watched the end of the first season of Californication. Pretty disappointing ending. You can really tell that they ended it no hopes of a second season. Unfortunately for them, there will be a second season, and they have essentially eliminated all of the things that made the first season great. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Tonight I saw:

Mr. Nice Guy - (1997) - B+

Jackie Chan movie, always fun, same recipe as always:

- Mistake causes cute naive girl to be kidnapped & Jackie has to resque her.
- Main villain who is retarded and his goons who are even more retarded.
- A 10min action scene every 20min. (Great choreography and use of environment)
- Jackie beats the crap out of everyone and it all ends well.

Rambo III - (1988) - F for Fail

It was lame, I didn't really pay much attention to the story (which was lame also), just sat there.
Maybe I wasn't in a serious enough mood anymore because of the Jackie movie but I really couldn't see the point in this one.

"When you laugh the world laughs with you, when you cry you cry alone"

Last night I watched Oldboy . This is an excellent film and if you are reading this post and have not seen it go watch it this weekend. I found it on comcast on demand, under free movies.

I think one of my favorite cinematic scenes is in Oldboy. When the "bad guy" is going down the elevator and has the flashback to letting go of his sister...brilliant.

Saw Tropic Thunder last night, it was very entertaining. Especially if you didn't hear all the hype around it like me. Recommended.

This evening I saw:

Paprika - (2006) - A

What a strange movie! Although, maybe you'd expect something like this to come from Japan, but still it's very special.
The first 10min you really have no idea what's going on. That improves as the film progresses but even at the end, it's still pretty hard to know how everything's connected. There's a special mood throughout the movie that makes it unique.

Definately worth a watch.
