Would anyone know where i could get my hands on a Famicom to Nes converter so that I can play Famicom games on my Nes?

Can't you find them in really early black box NES games?

The first NES games were actually Famicom boards inside an NES cartridge, but since Famicom carts don't work with NES, they had a built in adapter. I believe Gyromite is the most common one to contain the adapter.

You can tell which ones have the converter based on the heavier weight of the cartridge.

generaly the fami-nes conversters are in the 5 screw variants of the carts.  the only one confermed to have one 100% of the time was stack up.  as far as other games, it's hit or miss though if you look at the pins at the tip of the cart it's generaly accepted that if the tip of the pin is twords the side instead of the middle, it's got it.  as i find that method difficult to see, i'd elect to just take the bloody thing apart as the bit required to do so is no more special then a flat head screw driver.  once you remove the 5 screw you can simply look inside.  if you see a bland board with lil things attached, you dont have what your looking for.  now, if it's got 2 boards with a plastic thing in between them, you've got one.  it sounds a bit vague but after a few looks at them you'll know what i'm talking about.

I've opened dozens upon dozens of carts when I was looking for a converter, found nothing.  I can only assume that a lot of these carts have already been pillages for their converters.  I just picked up some cheap one for around $15.

If you have a SNES and a Super 8 adapter (I think thats what it is called). You could play NES, SNES, SFami and Fami games on your SNES.

There is a pirate game known as the 31-In-1 that has a detachable Fami converter. The converter has a ribbon, and looks like so:

The piece of the left is the game, with the PAL pin connector and the right converts that to NTSC. I wish I could find my camera and I would show you an example of how it looks in a circuit board as well (these are older pics).

That is the set put together.
