Yep, it's hard not to be that vulture when cool stuff comes in, but I tend to stand my distance. The owner and employees of the store pretty much know what I am looking for, so they will usually put it aside for me, which is nice. I've found that I still get good deals and even when I know what they paid, I am very respectful in my offer to ensure that he is treated fairly. Like Duke said, they have to put food on the table for their family, pay overhead, etc.

This was probably my favorite episode of the CollectorCast because I think, as Bil said it best (sorry I know this quote is way off), "We all kind of feel like we are part of Crabby's store." Though I have sent him a few things, most of all, I have really enjoyed watching and hearing about his success. I'm really glad the store has taken off as well as it has and think it's great that the had the gumption to take the leap of faith to open it. Continued good luck sir. Smiley

Crabs have you had any customers come in and use your store as a meeting place to buy/sell/trade to one another?

Not to my knowledge, but I have facilitated a couple personal transactions like that between some of my regulars. They were kind enough to ask me if I'd buy something from one of them and sell it to another since they were having trouble meeting up. I just passed the games along for no charge.

Bil, what didn't you like about GTA 4?

GTA 5 is fundamentally the same as GTA 4 as far as the layout, graphics, controls, etc....but there are several improvements.  For starters you can change between 3 characters each with their own unique stats.  One thing I think is really charming is that after a certain point you can switch between characters whenever you want, and when switch your character will be randomly doing something unexpected when the game loads up, like you'll be waking up in a dumpster, about to get into a fight with gang members, walking out of a hotel room post-hookering...all sorts of strange things that make it feel like your character has been living in the San Andreas world doing his own thing while you were playing with another character, rather than just sleeping in a bed or standing on a street corner waiting for you switch to him.  Also the writing is better.  I actually care about the characters I interact with throughout the game.  The missions are more fun too and you have more control over how you can pull off heists (for some but not all missions).  There are a bunch more random interactions with people in the streets, random events that pop up out of nowhere, tons of weird side missions....and the cops are harder to out-run.  Even one star can be tough to get rid of.  I definitely recommend it....
and play for longer than 10 hours this time.

Since you were curious about this game, here's Wizard of Oz for SNES:

I loved the Podcast like usual.  Keep em coming.

Gentlemen,

An excellent show as usual. It made me nostalgic for the days when I used to piss in my Nintendo.

Crabby, I wish I could visit your store. I really admire your entrepreneurial spirit and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing you speak about the ups and downs of being a new business owner.

Duke, I really appreciate the kind words about our podcast and the well wishes for my co-host. I'll be sure to pass them along. This is one of the many reasons I love this site. You guys are like friends to me. I was listening to the show with my wife in the car and we both got a little choked up when you started talking about my friend. Hopefully he'll come out of this and we'll be recording again soon and I know you'll continue to support us like you always have.

Definitely digging having the main topic before small scores.

Also, ya'll need to check out Skylanders because it's freaking awesome.

The part about my soon to be born twins is very funny. The part about my beard was really funny. I am having twin girls. Everyone I have talked to said twins are great.

Is I had a boy I am sure it would look something like this

On a very belated related note: You can indeed choose a Gold-level prize if you make Platinum. Which is what I did when I chose the desk calendar when I made Plat for the first time last year. I'd gotten the desk calendar each of the last three years when I only made Gold, and I wanted to keep the streak going. I guess I'm just a creature of habit. And call me crazy, but I didn't find the LoZ soundtrack CD all that attractive.

BTW I'm already at Gold for 2014, and I just might make Plat for the second straight year. If I do, will I eschew the Plat-level prizes for the 2015 desk calendar? Probably...

I forgot a gameboy outside and it went through a rainstorm. Grabbed it leaned it on a corner and drained out what seemed like enough water to fill the entire inner cavity of the system and cart. Fired it up the next day Cheesy

Also every time the ep gets bleeped i laugh.
The funny thing is i don't really notice you guys don't swear and i probably wouldn't notice if you did. But as soon as it gets bleeped its like "OH BOY BAD WORD!" and my amusement level increases and i am immediately 8 years old again.

Just over 1 hour in.

Also as far as the soda thing. The local shop near me would actually stock up on them when they were on sale or buy in bulk and make a decent profit just selling cans.
Buy 36-48 cans (depending on sale) for ~12$s sell each can for a buck a piece.

If Izret is ever at your house dont let him drink soda. Bad things randomly happen when he drinks soda.

I think my body was reacting prematurely to a roofie.

Coughing soda all over your living room probably saved my life.

I'm sure that for the most part, people wouldn't care about cursing on the show, but I have received messages from listeners thanking us for doing a show that is clean. Most other podcasts I listen to don't, and it is nice to have something that I wouldn't mind my kids hearing.

Mental note made: Izret + soda = disastrous mess.
