Overview

The PC Engine Duo was released in late 1991 as a combination of a PC Engine console and Super CD-ROM2 add-on. Because the Duo has the Super System Card 3.0 built-in, it can play all Super CD-ROM2 games and Arcade CD-ROM2 games with the additional Arcade Card Duo card. The PC Engine Duo is probably the least reliable of all PC Engine consoles, due to bad capacitors around the heat sink which cause the CD audio to drop out after a long play time.

The PC Engine Duo was released in the US as the TurboDuo in 1992, and was replaced in 1993 by the sleeker Duo-R.
