A couple of months ago I found myself at Goodwill. As I browsed through the layers upon layers of cables, keyboards, and DVD players I noticed what appeared to be an XBOX logo. Sure enough, there were two Duke XBOX controllers and at five bucks each they seemed like a good deal. As I paid for the controllers and walked out the door I assumed all the controllers needed was a little cleaning. Little did I know they would turn in to the next Retro Repairs project.

As long as video game consoles have been around so too has the 3rd party controller. They can be better in quality than first party controllers but often fall far below expectations. The PS2 has been around for almost 19 years now and finding new 1st party controllers is difficult and expensive. 3rd party alternatives like the Logitech Cordless Action are great but are increasingly difficult to source working units. So I set out to find a PS2 controller with features similar to the Logitech Cordless Action.

When it comes to gaming a good controller can make or break the experience. This is especially true for Retro Gaming where split-second timing is required. Sourcing parts for controllers can also be difficult such as the button membranes for the NES Advantage so keeping controllers clean and in good shape is paramount. I have a standard procedure I follow for cleaning my controllers and wanted to share in the hope that we can bring some controllers back to life.

I play a lot of games these days and it takes a special game for me to spend more than a couple hours on. I hadn't followed any media on Kingdom Come Deliverance so I didn't know anything about it going in. What I found was a historically grounded first-person RPG whose gameplay loop is akin to the Elder Scrolls series. Join me as I take a look at the good, the bad, and the buggy in Kingdom Come Deliverance.

I am a child of the 80's/90's and all of the nostalgia that comes with it. The Disney Afternoon was a staple of my childhood and the Capcom developed games were a great way to play in the worlds of DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers, and Talespin. Frank Cifaldi and Mike Mika of Digital Eclipse showed their love of these properties when they released the Disney Afternoon Collection on XB1, PC, and PS4. Everybody get ready, it's time for the Disney Afternoon.
