Nintendo in 3D! Some games took advantage of the new graphic capabilities, many of which you'll find below. Like all systems, it had its clunkers (hello Superman), but it was interesting to put this list together because it was similar to the Super NES; at the top were some mainstays that received near universal praise.

At first glance there really isn't much that I should like about Yo-kai Watch: I am not a fan of anime in general, I am not a huge fan of the Pokemon craze, and I am certainly not at the age to which this games humor is targeted. Nonetheless, I was pulled into Yo-kai Watch hard, and it has everything to do with the setting.

Over the last several years I've noticed that popular gaming trends have been moving in a direction that largely doesn't appeal to me. That's not to say I don't still get excited for new game. I am beyond thrilled for the release of Persona 5 in a few days. Injustice 2 looks like a stellar follow up to the first game. South Park: The Fractured But Whole seems like it's going to improve on the previous game in every way. Ni No Kuni II is sure to live up to the pedigree of the first Ni Nu Kuni. And Bloodstained already has my money and is working hard to impress.
There is a lot to be excited about even if 90% or more of the AAA releases are for a different audience these days. One thing that is very new to my "Day 1" purchase list is the exclusion of Nintendo franchises. Usually I'm 100% on board for the next Mario, Zelda, Fire Emblem and more. But my world got a lot darker on March 17th.......

I'm not a huge Pokemon fanatic. I have dabbled in the series on and off since Blue and Red though. I've beaten and enjoyed Pokemon Blue, Diamond, Y, Snap, Trozei, and Stadium. I've played several others like Gale of Darkness, Mystery Dungeon and the more recent Pokemon Go, and found myself satisfied with the experiences. Heck I've even occasionally enjoy a few games of the Pokemon TCG.
My son is now 8 years old and is in prime Pokemon territory. After hearing some good things, I decided to get us a joint Christmas present of the Pokemon Sun/Moon double pack (which has both versions of the game). It took a few weeks after Christmas to get some attention from either of us as we were pre-occupied with Lego, comic books, and life for a while. However, we finally decided to jump in and I've had a very interesting experience playing through this game alongside my son.

There's no greater collecting site for video game enthusiasts anywhere on the internets, really! It's true! It really is. But there have been many signs of a decline in the last few years, which is why I'm campaigning to become this fine institution's illustrious leader. It should be no surprise to anyone who is familiar writing that I am a fan of the Pokemon franchise. I've been personally playing the game since the North American releases back in the fall of 1998, and have bought every main series entry in the franchise and even went so far as to write three articles covering the first three generations of the series several years ago. Something I've always wanted to do, but have never been able to, is to get into the field of competitive Pokemon battling, now while this seems as simple as leveling a team of six Pokemon and running off to face an opponent, either online or in person, but when you get down to it, there's an entire world of depth available to those who are willing to look for it, and today, that's what we're here to talk about.

Ok...allow me to preface a bit first.
First off, i've been crazy busy, thus explaining the lack of blog posts...and the conclusion of my SGC will be posted....eventually xD
Now onto the find:
I was at a church craft show/ yard sale on a saturday afternoon. Traditionally, i can pick a few things up each year, since the "yard sale" room is ran by old ladies....people donate their stuff to the church and then the church manages the sale of it as opposed to individual sellers.
This year seemed pretty grim, until i looked under a table at a box marked "playstation", with a few bags next to it. The box indeed contained a ps1 with 2x memory cards, a gameshark and power chord (no av or controller >.>) The bags were of particular interest.... after scooping them all up, I asked the old lady there how much for all of it....
"well, since its all gonna get donated in an hour anyway....how about 10$ for all of it?"

all of it works great...no marker, no dirt...hardly any scratches on the systems....and all for 10$
but now for the real question: what to do with pokemon green!?

Hey all. As of today, my Blog is updated to include an extended focus on other Video Games, not just Nintendo. Expect some stories and other cool stuff soon!
Oh, and here's a preview of my new Sprite Comic. I call it: "Pokemon Redux"...Yeah, I know it's a lame title, but that's the best I could think of. It's late, and I'm tired. I'll be throwing in a new comic with every other blog post. This first one will tell you the premise of it. Anyway, that's all for now. I'll be posting another entry tomorrow morning.

Welcome to the third, and final, in my series retrospective on the Pokemon franchise. This final entry will cover the Advance Generation of the Pokemon series, which spanned even games on the Gameboy Advance, four on the GameCube, and three on the Nintendo DS. The Advance Generation was a sort of reboot for the franchise, when Ruby and Sapphire were originally released for the GBA, they were not connected in any way to the previous games in the series. The stories weren't connected like the first two generation games were, the new region, Hoenn, was in a completely different part of the Pokemon world, with no connection to either Kanto or Johto, and while Ruby and Sapphire contained data for all of the Pokemon from the previous games, a vast majority of them were unobtainable within the games themselves, without the use of a cheating device, and the games featured no way to connect to any of the previous releases. Some fans felt this lack of connection to the previous games was a step in the wrong direction and questioned whether or not Nitendo truely knew what they wanted to do with the franchise, little did we know that Nintendo did have something in mind, but we'd have to wait some time to see what it was...

Due to the global success of the Pokemon franchise, it was obvious that a sequel to the popular Red, Blue, and Yellow versions was imminent. From 1995 until 2001, the world played the first generation Pokemon games and waded through a number of spinoffs awaiting a true sequel to be released for the series. In 1997 the first details emerged from Nintendo in the form of screen shots for Pocket Monsters 2: Gold and Silver, and even though the games wouldn't see release in Japan until 1999, the world anxiously awaited the release of these sequels. The second generation of Pokemon is small, especially in comparison to the first generation, as the second generation is only made up of five games, Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal, Pokemon Stadium 2 (Pokemon Stadium Gold and Silver in Japan) and Pokemon Puzzle Challange, these games, with the exception of Pokemon Stadium, are all available for the Gameboy Color, with Stadium available for the Nintendo 64.

Welcome to gaming in Retrospect, this is an article where I'll look back on a game or a series of games. In this article I'll be looking at the first generation of the Pokemon franchise with games for the Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Nintendo 64. The Pokemon franchise is the brain child of game developer Satoshi Tajiri, and since it's original Japanese release in 1995 has spawned more than 40 games, an anime series spanning nearly 500 episodes, and a manga series that has been serialized for the last twelve years. In this first article covering the series, I'll look at the games based on the first generation games from the main series games Pokemon Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow, the first two Stadium games, and the spinoff games Pokemon Pinball, Pokemon Trading Card Game, Pokemon Snap, and Hey You! Pikachu!.

 While Americans get news that they have to wait until May 12, Nintendo of Japan is priming up their audience for upcoming Wii Ware releases later this month. Recently, Nintendo launched a page listing some of the titles announced along with some screenshots. A fair amount of second and third-party support is a welcome sight to continue Nintendo's diverse download offerings.
The current titles announced include:- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King
- StarSoldierR
- Word Puzzle Mojipittan Wii
- Everyone's Pokémon Ranch
- Dr. Mario's Virus Buster
- Marubou Shikaku
- Magnetica (Puzzloop)
- Bomberman
- Okiraku Ping-Pong Wii
- Angel's Solitaire
- Joysound Wii
There are a notable amount of previously announced titles missing from the current list, but it is expected that we'll see those as well as others on the Wii Ware service in the future. Judging by the screenshots we can expect to see a mix of single player and multiplayer games that appeal to a diverse audience.
