Let's not forget that Microsoft wouldn't have done what they did unless they were sure Sony was going to implement the same things. I bet you Sony had a meeting and said, "let's wait to see what MS is doing then we'll make our big announcement." Sony was playing it safe, while Microsoft had the guts to boldly go with their plan. So, I don't think it's right to say Mattrick sunk Xbox.

This is a lateral move for him. He was a head of a department with Microsoft and now he potentially will be at the top of a company. He's a businessman, it's just what they do.

I actually thought the same thing.

I knew Zynga floundered completely on the stock market but the news of them dropping some other big wig and picking up Mattrick had given them a little more life.

I guess he really really loved that always online business model.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. After his poor handling of the Xbox situation he's smart for taking a ticket out.

At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter much. I doubt that he was the master mind behind all of this.

I think if he stayed MS was going to use him as a whipping boy.

He was the public face through the whole Xbox One fiasco so he was going to be the fall guy.
