Just wanted to share that this went out to member bsr241 the other day. He was the winner of our Atari 2600 Activision Challenge from April's retro playthrough................yeah, yeah..... sorry it took so long. Just wanted to share his score with the group in case he didn't post it. Congrats!

Buddy of mine just finished law school and passed the bar exam.

Yeah, that's just what we need: another freakin' lawyer.   Roll Eyes

Quote
Got him a little gift. He's a big fan of a certain series, so I thought cuff links were appropriate...

Huh, I woulda figured him for a fan of the Phoenix Wright series.  Wink

All right, time to reveal the big haul I teased in my last Small Scores post:

For a little under $40 at the nearby Savers, I picked up 22 mostly loose games, which I will break down by system.

For the NES:

- TMNT II The Arcade Game and The Manhatten Project: I swear to Eon, if I ever find this "C. Davis" guy who wrote his name on these things, I'm gonna pop him one.  Angry

- Micro Machines, Quattro Sports, and Big Nose the Caveman gold carts

For the SNES:

- Super Mario World
- Super Mario Kart
- Wrestlemania the Arcade Game
- Super Bomberman 2

PlayStation discs with manuals:

-Bust-a-Move '99
- Army Men: Air Combat
- Spyro: Ripto's Rage!

For the Sega Saturn:

- Madden '97 & '98
- Iron Man & X-O Manowar
- Bug!
- SimCity 2000

Aaand for the 32X (this one's for you, Bil (even though you prefer 'em CIB)):

- Knuckles Chaotix: the 32X title I've been on the lookout for. Would've preferred it CIB, but at least I now have the opportunity to play it.

- Virtua Racing: Although I'm not the biggest collector of auto racing games, this one has been highly recommended, so I figured why the hell not.

- Doom

-Star Wars Arcade: Freakin' ripped label.  Sad

- Steel Empire for Genesis: I didn't feel like giving this its own pic.

Whelp, that's it for now. Tune in next time when I show you the most interesting-- and possibly contraband-- piece of video game firepower I've ever discovered, as well as a certain rare* SNES title in a rather unexpected place.

*Rare is in "hard to find in the wild," not the game development company.

Another pile of games from senseiman, and a couple from Arcade Gear (formerly Jap-Sai)

Bought from senseiman: Star Wars, Spelunker 2, Akira, MetaFight, Bomber Man and Bomber Man 2, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. and Donkey Kong 3.
Arcade Gear: CIB copies of Mother and Mother 2, as well as a CIB Expansion Pak for N64 to complete my big box copy of Majora's Mask.

And then two or three things from our very own techwizard, Destruction Derby long box, Super Castlevania IV, and Pocket Monsters Stadium (JPN N64)
and Destiny I picked up after what seems like eons on pre-order from Gamestop.

Alright, so I have 3 weeks worth of pictures waiting to be posted, but I had to throw these ones to the front of the line.  This has got to be one of my best scores ever.  It's definitely my best thrift find ever.

First picture, not so amazing stuff:

Pretty standard SNES score.  Nothing to amazing, though I have a special place in my heart for Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for some dumb reason.  Here's the good stuff:

Final Fantasy II
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Mega Man X2
Mega Man X3

Everything in both pictures was $4 a piece.  It could have been even better because I left Super Metroid, Super Castlevania IV and Link to the Past there, along with a bunch of Super Mario Worlds and the Donkey Kong Country games.  I only would have bought them to resell them, so I figured I'd leave them for someone else to get excited over.

That being said, I'm planning selling the Smash Bros, both Final Fantasy games and Mega Man X3. It will be a nice little boost in my Spiderman:  Web of Fire fund.
