DOOM Movie On The Way

The on again, off again DOOM movie may finally be on again. Despite several failed attempts over the past few years, it seems Warner Bros. Pictures is in final negotiations to bring the video game to the big screen. Once a deal is in place, a writer will pen the screenplay and production on the film would begin shortly after the script is finished and approved.

According to published reports, the film's story will likely resemble DOOM III's storyline, which is set on a futuristic military base on Mars. When a scientific experiment goes awry and accidently opens a portal to hell, the hero must battle demonic forces.

Warner Bros. is targeting a PG-13 rating for the movie.

If they duplicate Doom 3 story line 100% i think it could be good. Not on the other hand with PG 13 rating.

And no blood since they're going for a PG-13 rating.  The movie part I could believe, but the rating they hope to get floored me.

I think the movie has a good potential as long as they ditch the PG13 idea.  Any PG13 horror movie has to suck, what the hell are they thinking??

There just shouldnt be any game movies. I'll bet you 20 bucks theres a scene where The Rock kills many demons to a stupid Drowning Pool song.

Let the Bodies Hit the Floor?
I havent played to much of the game but it sounds and looked like a game that COULD make a good movie.
I cannot stress the COULD enough. But PG13 will cut out anything that would make a Horror movie good.

I've been saying for years that DOOM could make a good movie. The catch here is that DOOM could make a good movie if someone actually TRIED to make it a good movie. Since no one has ever actually tried to make a video game based movie that was anything more than a commercial for the game, I don't think that will happen.

I actually liked the Doom books from a few years back.  If they based the movie off those, it'd be cool.  Pretty good storyline (either that, or the writing was good).

They need to get the effect that you get ut of the PDA logs in the game into the movie and try to get the philosophical junk in there about UAC and not just zombies, metal, The Rock, etc.

When i played at youre house it was all about shooting everyone Good or bad in the head. At least for me andf the 20-30 min i played the game.
If they go for an R rating this movie will be much better off.
