So I am thinking of buying a new scanner. Since my old one has been broken for some time now.

I don't know what is good and what is bad.  I am getting it for the sole purpose of scanning my games, boxes, manuals, etc. for our website.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good brand to get. I don't want to spend a ton of money. But I don't want a cheap piece of junk either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've always had good luck with HP stuff, I've been using the same scanner for probably 5+ years with no problems, and it's fast too. Mine is also an "all in one" which is great for saving space.
Ideally, what would be best is if you can find a inexpensive used one, but they're tough to buy at garage sales because there is no way to test it other than hooking it up to the person's computer.

I'm thinking of getting a (cheap) one myself, one of these months.

Mainly because about 80% of the games I own don't have scans, and I'd love to see that change.

€50-€80 is about what I'd want to spend on it. Any suggestions?

Tan wrote a review on the Canon LiDE 85 (?) something-or-other. Have a look in his blogs for the review and the correct model number. It costs somewhere around £40 in Britain. He was very pleased with it.

Same one my mom has. Works great. I use a HP something of other all in one that cost $99 new, and it does up to like 4800 dpi.

Read the review, think I'm going to go for a similar one. Smiley

I really couldn't see the point for me to have a scanner that would make even better scans.
