This week I picked up a lot of Super Nintendo and Gameboy games, but the best find of this week is a Playstation item

Just got back from Gainesville...couldn't meet up with Wempster though, since he had to work. Here's the haul, though it's much smaller than last time. Mostly Star Wars this time, as they mixed Fantasy with Young Adult and therefore didn't put out anywhere near as many books for Fantasy. I did manage to find ONE decent Video Game there, Mister Slime for the NDS, though I found it in the VHS section for $2 CIB...

For a couple of the enthusiasts on the site, I figured you guys would like this. They had the manual for Falcon 4.0, but I wasn't about to lug that beast around:

'Norch: Thanks for keeping those eyes peeled for a Miracle pedal. Where on earth have all of these things gone???

Apparently the same place where the stand for my Virtual Boy and scope piece to my SNES Super Scope light gun have gone.

Fantastic grab on that C64 lot. I had one as a kid (my 2nd computer) and remember spending hours typing in pages of BASIC code just to play garbage games. Those were the days...

Back in my middle school days, there was a free monthly paper called Computer Currents that I'd pick up from a newspaper vending box outside of the local 7-11. Aside from a few articles and a lot of ads, there were many pages of BASIC code for various games and simple applications. I tried my hand at a few of them, but found myself frustrated over how much I had to input for the C64 versions versus their Apple II, Atari, and PC counterparts. It required a degree of patience and discipline that I sorely lacked... and still do.

Speaking of retro computers: I picked up a little something this week that I hope still works. It didn't come with any hook-ups, but for what they were asking for it, I figured it was with the risk. I tell ya, with all these bronze-age tech scores I've discovered lately, I'll have one of those TI-99/4A dealies in my possession in no time...

@Zagnorch

First Flee, now you.   How can I possibly one-up you guys with those score cards?

Quite simply: YOU CAN'T. So don't even think of trying.

I am the RF Gen Thriftmaster General, and don't you forget it!

Actually, with my interest in the Pacific campaigns of WWII combined with my Star Trek fandom and the "flag rank" of my latest small score, I'm more like the Thriftmaster Admiral. Yeah, that's more like it!

Oh, and welcome to the RFGeneration forums, Wild Bil!  We have a very friendly community of collectors here, so dont be afraid to ask questions and post your scores here in this thread.  Welcome aboard!

I dunno if you should be so welcoming of this stranger; he seems a bit shady to me...

...not to mention Satanic.

Neat-o. Glad to see RF Gen's Netherlands contingent still has a presence here. Can't let the Yank-Rebs and Canuckleheads hog all the action after all.  Wink

This is a video game collecting website, not a reading room. Your treasonous and subversive attempts to spread literacy and free thought will NOT be tolerated here.  grrr Won't anybody think of the children? It won't be me, of course, but I'm sure somebody somewhere will think of them...

HEY! I thought of you while I was there - they had an Air Disasters history manual.
The books I pick up all have video game themes, so no complaints! Plus, there WAS an actual game in there plus a couple strategy guides.

I promise more games next time. I came in $130 under budget this time, so I'm fairly certain I can work that out into something gaming related.

The Collectorcast is going to need two episodes of exclusive Small Scores to catch up with this haul.

Very excited about this machine I just picked up. Needs a little work, but I hope to have it up and running before too long.

How are you finding all these arcade machines? The way you're going I think you should open a gaming museum.

Well, I can't let Crabby get away with all of the sweet arcade scores. Grabbed a pin I've been trackng down for quite some time. Cabinet is a little rough, but the backglass and playfield are nice. Flash Gordon is known to be one of the most brutal pins out there and for that reason (and the theme of course), I'm happy to have it.

Also, got the spring fever with some really nice weather this weekend. Decided to do a double row and create more space for my pins. Luckily, my wife was really cool with this and loves the new set up.

Can't it be for both?

How are you finding all these arcade machines? The way you're going I think you should open a gaming museum.

I've been amazed at the rate I've been picking them up over the last several months too. I also got a Tetris cab with the Punch Out and that puts me at over 30 arcade and pinball machines now.

@Banana - That is a kick ass looking pin!!

Awesome pickups guys.

@Zag - the Madcatz PS2 controller you picked up lights up as well.  I think noiseredux did an article on it a while back, and I picked one up because it was so cool.
