They played the 2600 and Intellivision back in the day.

Not to long ago my mom bought a used Xbox just to play Top Spin tensis. I was amazed by that.

My mom always tells me stories about how her and my dad would stay up all night playing pong.  As a matter of fact, I still have thier old pong unit and it's part of my collection now.

They also played alot of 2600. Probably about 50 games in my collection are their old games that they gave to me.  For some reason, all of the women in my family are unstoppable at Q-Bert.  My mom and my two older sisters can all demolish any high score I put up.  It's a little humbling at times  Smiley

A few years ago when Metal Gear Solid 2 was still a new game, I showed it to my dad.  He was in the military and loves war movies, books, anything he can get his hands on.  He didn't seem to impressed with it at first, giving me the standard "hey that's pretty neat" parental fake intrest.  The next day I came home from school and he was in my room playing it.  I showed him the basics of the game and he played for a good half hour or so.

Finally, last year my mom and I went to a bunch of garage sales together.  Of course I was looking for games, and we talked a little bit about them riding from place to place.  she asked if I had any spare Atari's, I said yes, and she asked if she could have one to play with.  That day I hooked one up on the family room TV where it still is now.

I guess I was pretty lucky having parents who understood the allure of video games.

My mom only plays Tiger Woods games because she golfs and I golf with her.  My sister like NES (Mario) and Genesis (Sonic) games but not 3D games.  My dad doesn't play them at all...

I got my mom addicted to online poker (play chips, no real money, but still).  And occasionally she'll sit down for a game of Tetris or Dr. Mario with me.
