I'm reading mangas on the commute to and from school. I read through a couple of Great Teacher Onizuka volumes, which had some hilarious scenes, and am now reading Samurai Deeper Kyo.

SDK isn't too bad but it has the most rediculous plotline that could go on forever. There's a million characters, each with "unparalleled power!" Always during a fight when one of the heroes is almost defeated, there's always a new character that appears out of nowhere, or the hero transforms, or pulls of a "secret technique" etc... I'm rolling on the floor with laughter while reading this stuff on the bus. It reminds me greatly of Dragon Ball Z, where it took like a hundred episodes just to defeat Freeza.

"No way! It can't be! That's Mishuritomo no-kana Yoshirakando! The 7th Demon Lord of the Yashuko-Nasaki clan! His power is legendary!" Roll Eyes

Been going through a hardcover collection of Life's Imponderables I picked up at a book sale recently.

It's basically a compendium of answers to everyday questions about how things work, or why things are arranged in a certain way. It's the Uncle John's Bathroom Reader of its day (the mid 80s to early 90s).

To me, the most interesting questions and answers involve technology that's no longer used, or is on the verge of obsolescence. Like what the "bias" in high-bias audio tape is. Or the deal with the change-return slot on a pay phone.

I've been reading Rebound mangas, now that I'm through my SDK volumes. Fun series, wish I had more volumes of it (only have 5).

Just finished the second Incredible Change-Bots graphic novel, a downright silly TransFormers satire-tribute thingy.

If it weren't for comic books, I'd probably be illiterate today.

I decided to get away from reading about the history of the Third Reich for a while, and switched to more upbeat material:
