It's not wrong, it just wouldn't be very personalized.  Might be a little guessing as to what it's for if they are involved in other site gift exchanges.

shaggy, if you do that, include in your instructions that you want it posted a certain way with the label, so when it arrives it'd be like you sent it. A lot of sellers, myself included, are more than happy to do it. It may be worthwhile to contact the seller first to ensure they'll do it.

That was my feeling banana, about the personalization, but  some items on my list I'm positive I won't find local.  I figured I could probably get more for the person shipping directly if I had to come to that but hopefully I won't have to!
