dictionary.com is great.  For a while, I subscribed to the word of the day just so I could read the word entries in my mailbox and learn new etymologies.

I switched over at a time when dictionary.com was not able to keep up with the hits it was getting, and never switched back.
Oh, and google's spell check is nice too.
