Anyone here twitter? I don't update much but I like to follow funny people. I follow Shaq (cause hes unintentionally hilarious), rainn wilson of "office fame", Louis Ck, some bands and a few other funny people. Anyone else do this or have anything funny to say about it?

^Add me to the boat of staying away.  I have enough of my own thoughts and those around me to contend with.

I used to have a Orkut (shit is big in Brazil, don't know why), Facebook and Twitter... believe me, it's a complete waste of time.

I was a hater before I understood how twitter really works.  It's hard to explain but I can admit that it's really bad until you fill it with interesting people with similar interests.  Once you get a good group of people to follow and who follow you, it's a really powerful platform.  It ends up being all the things I like about social networking sites, forums, community driven sites, and networking sites.

That being said, MANY people still think it's just advertising, spam, status updates, and stupidity.  Well...IT IS...IF you don't have a good group of people to follow.  Even now, I still unfollow people every now and then just to keep the quality in my twitter feed high.  It's kind of like Xbox LIVE in that way.

The list of alleged accounts & passwords consists of more than 20,000 duplicates. Also suspended spam accounts & incorrect login credentials

I'd be more worried about credit card companies that have lost information, unemployment offices, PSN and XBL, etc etc etc

Twitter doesn't have any info other than your name AFAIK

Yeah, aside from a password that I don't use for many sites there isn't anything they could take that would be worth taking other than my email addy but then again it's not like I don't already get spam.

IF I were a celeb then I might be worried about them posting crap with my account but I'm not. Smiley
