Who say's Nintendo won't put their games on other consoles huh?   laugh

Actually the guy at the store was kinda confused by it, more about if it was a Coleco(vision) game or an Intellivision game. I talked to him about it for a bit explaining Atari, Coleco and INTV consoles with all their cross pollination; and it's not like he didn't know his stuff, just that no one knows everything.

Six year old is watching me type this and I'm not allowing all the smilies she wants (she wants me to use them all) but she is demanding I put some in this message:

Great stuff you got there! Hope Retro Magazine gets their stuff together. Sorry I have been a stranger.

I avoided even trying to get the NES Classic and I found out that a small local chain got like 10 times as many as any other store in the area.

From what I gathered from the discussion I had with the manager their company pre-ordered like 60 as soon as they could, about a dozen per store. The big retailers waited to the last minute, thinking their size and market share would give them the lion's share. That's one small reason why a lot of major retailers only got 2 or 3 per store early on. Factor in shady employees setting them aside for themselves at a small percentage of locations and the shortage snowballed.

It also made me believe that Nintendo really is trying to fill the market, but when Wal-Mart, Gamestop, Target, etc. are making huge orders a month or two before release then you end up with the manufacturer and supplier taking the blame, instead of the incompetence of the retail product ordering managers.

So this was a fun pickup:

The system is in pristine condition; 15 of the 18 games are sealed. It's my 34th unique console.

Hey now...

Hi!

I've been in serious lurker mode lately. Super busy all the time for the last couple months, I think it will pay off at some point but some days I measure my free time in seconds  Undecided

On that note:

ANYway, here's my latest batch of scores:

- CIB Skylander's Eon's Elite Ghost Roaster, Slam Bam, and Voodood, $4.99 each

- CIB Warriors of the Lost Empire for PSP, $9.99 $4.99

- Mystery plug-n-play controller thingy, $6.99 $3.49

- CIB Pac-Man 35th Anniversary plug-n-play, $3.15

- Sealed Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time for PS Vita, $9.95

I also took advantage of TRU's Buy-1-Get-3-Free on non-Imaginators Skylanders dealies, and grabbed the following for about $22.00:

Aaaand finally, an interesting oddball peripheral...

Wow, great stuff! I have only played on the Lynx once, and that was a display model at Toys R Us. Always wanted to pick one up but haven't because I rarely play handheld games, plus the Atari 5200 has all my attention right now. Looks like fun though. Did you get a pretty good deal?

The whole lot set me back $300, which probably isn't an amazing deal, but it's probably fair. Price Charting seems to suggest that sealed Lynx stuff isn't worth much more than complete (or even loose) stuff, which is weird. I expect they'll all end up opened eventually.

While still "up," www.NubyTech.com looks like it hasn't been updated in years... though I do really dig the last piece of hardware featured on the front page:
