Why did we have the poll if we can't do Emulators vs the real thing?

Because you can do emulators vs emulators, but not emulators vs the real thing Smiley.

I thought scores would just be 'scrutinized more'?

I agree with what is up there with the exception of no PAL vs. NTSC(but it does make sense so it will stand) and (he didn't say this specifically) but no WOLFMAME vs. Arcade.

IMO if that emulator is good enough Twin Galaxies (seeing as it was made specifically for them) it is good enough for me.
Get it here http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=48

I think that should be stated as the only emulator exception.

Sureshot I still honor your Streetts of Rage 2 score. Even though you used that little time trick  Wink

No PAL vs NTSC, because NTSC is quicker. Which can result in different timing and thus different scores. Just play tekken 3 in ntsc and pal and you'll understand Smiley.

I'm not sure how you can check how an emulator is exactly the same as the real thing. Besides, the controls are very different too.

On the other hand, maybe the topic starter should decide what he allows and what not.

Well if you want to get as specific as the controll layout then you would have to do that for everygame anyways.
And everyone who was going to challenge an Arcade games score would have to use the same model arcade cab because they all are slightly different.

The reason i am going with WolfMAME being ok is because if TG will accept it for their world hiscore records i would suppose it is acceptable for our reasons.

I also agree with the no PAL vs. NTSC because of the differences. But that also does make things still that much more exclusive. But it can't really be helped. Take your wins with your loses Smiley

At the end of the day, nobody's trying to break any records, it's just some fun Tongue  And I doubt anyone around here would be so underhand as to try anything shifty!

I guess you're right. Besides, it's probably different for each game.
