After looking at the size of the book, the detail, how much interesting information is included, and the overall production value, I was really excited about adding this to the bookshelf.

Then I saw the price...

I know that books aren't cheap to produce and take a lot of work to put together, but $175 for a hardcover book seems a bit crazy.

Also, they say this is a non profit project and ALL money goes towards printing costs.  How can that be?

Very cool project, but like you said the price is crazy high. Couldnt see myself paying more than $30-40 for something like that.

The goal is $25,000 so he only needs 140 people to pledge at the $175 level.  What are the chances that it gets made and the value goes up because of the limited production?

The cost is extremely high because it's a limited print run. If there were 2,000 made, the price would be much lower.

That looks amazing.  I'm not interested in it, however.

Interesting idea, but the price is way out. For about the same price I'm getting Cheetahmen II: The Lost Levels and Cheetahmen: The Creation with a few goodies. I don't see this one making it.

I like the idea, but as Duke stated the price is too high.

Finalize the book by obtaining the remaining copyright permissions (i.e. Nintendo) and making final touch-ups

I'm pretty sure this has more to do with the price than anything else...
