Hello Fellow Gamers! My brother and I did a little more shopping today at a couple of our favorite stores. IF you haven't read the previous blogs please do so! We bought probably our last bulk lot of NES games for a while. Most of these titles are hard to come buy especially complete in the box such as DIE HARD & Metal Storm! We have spent quite a bit of money accomplishing something we are excited to have a good quality and quantity of NES games in their boxes. Sorry none of these are for trade or for sale. We might be getting rid of some loose games and maybe some games we have duplicates in their boxes. But anyways we went to a Comic store which sells a ton of video games and then we went to Goodwill's GoodBytes. We also went to Nebraska Furniture Mart so I could buy a bundle PS Vista! Now my brother and I both have one! And I also purchased a couple of games Army Corps From Hell & Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus. My brother purchased the system and a couple of games on the day it came out he bought the same bundle pack and the games he purchased were Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 & of course Uncharted: Golden Abyss. This month has been great and this lot of games is a good way to end the month. Especially with the boxed NES Games Die Hard, Mighty Final Fight, Metal Storm, Barbie (yes I said Barbie), Pac-Mania and a few others. Another side note my brother bought Star Wars on NES complete in box in an earlier blog from eBay and today he surprised me with the sequel Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back on NES complete in box! Also purchased from eBay. So hope you all enjoyed and here are the pictures please comment!

Also the Game Genie is Brand New Sealed.
This week marks the North American release of the PlayStation Vita, Sony's second handheld gaming device and the follow-up to the PlayStation Portable. As a PSP enthusiast, the Vita has me quite excited; in fact the Vita is the first system of any kind I am picking up on release day in over a decade (the PS2 was the last time I had a system from day one). Since I also happen to run a blog that focuses, in part, on system launches (I've previously chronicled the launch of the Game Boy Advance, the NES, the SNES, and the VCS), I figured it would make sense to share my thoughts on the Vita's debut.
There are several interesting considerations when analyzing the Vita launch: the machine itself, the launch lineup, and its place in the current gaming landscape.
The Hardware The Specs. As was the case with the PSP before it, the Vita comes onto the market as the most impressive handheld gaming device ever created. It has a blazing quad core processor (vs. the 3DS' dual core), the ability to push 33 million polygons a second (vs. the 3DS' 15.3 million), a relatively small 512MB of RAM (vs. the 3DS' even more paltry 128MB), a beautiful 5 OLED screen with 221 pixels per inch (vs. the iPhone's superior 320ppi retina display), and a host of ways to connect the device to wireless networks, computers, the PS3, etc. The unit is backwards compatible with PS1 classics and PSP games downloaded from PSN. The price point of $250 for the base system, considering what you are getting, is quite impressive. It would seem that Sony is probably selling these at a loss, which follows their standard model.
The Features. Easily the most maligned design choice of the original PSP was the absence of a second analog stick, forcing many genres to abandon the platform altogether or to be adopted with hit-or-miss work-arounds. The most obvious addition to the Vita is the inclusion of a second analog stick, an addition that places it more comfortably in the hands of gamers who prefer a dualstick or a 360 control pad. In addition, the rear touch pad on the Vita allows for both interesting gameplay mechanics as well as way to incorporate L2 and R2 buttons (via touch) into the unit. Like most handheld devices made in the past several years, it also sports a pair of cameras, a touch screen, and a gyroscope, all of which further expand the potential to do lots of different things with the Vita. Battery life over time is yet to be determined, but 3-5 hours of gameplay at a time seems to be typical for most users so far and is pretty close to what you can get with a 3DS or with more resource-intensive iOS or Android games.
The Media. One questionable design decision Sony has made with the Vita is the lack of substantial on-board storage memory. Instead, users are required to purchase a separate proprietary flash card (between 4GB and 32GB) if they want to store PSN downloads, media, or game data. Sony also will continue to publish games at retail, abandoning the UMDs used for the PSP for flash cards that are similar to (but smaller than) what is produced for the DS/3DS. That means that most users will have two cards - a game card and a memory card - in their system at any given time. Sony is also pushing digital distribution of all Vita games for users who want an experience closer to what was available on the PSPGo, Sony's less popular UMD drive-less version of the PSP.
The Launch Lineup
The U.S. launch of the PS Vita includes a pretty strong selection of games from different genres, and at 24 titles, features about 25% more games than the PSPs launch seven years ago (by comparison the 3DS launch featured about 18 games and the DS launch featured only 6 games). A few things stand out about the launch lineup:
Racing Heaven. Even though the Vita is the first PlayStation system of any kind to launch in the US without a Ridge Racer title available on launch day, there are five racing games available for the system at launch ranging from futuristic racers (Wipeout 2048), to Kart Racers (ModNation Racers and Ben 10: Galactic Racing), to more standard racing fare (F1 2011 and Asphalt: Injection). Racers are traditionally good at showing off system horsepower, and most of these titles have features which are only possible on the Vita (ModNation's use of the rear pad for design, Wipeout's cross-platform play, etc.). If you are at all a fan of racing games, odds are there's something for you in the Vita's launch.
Lack of games that benefit from the second stick. One surprising component of the Vita launch is that the vast majority of the games are in genres where the second analog stick - one of the Vita's major selling points - is rarely used. Uncharted and the PSN-only downloadable game Super Stardust Delta are the most obvious second-stick required games, but the majority of the games available at launch could have worked with the inputs available on the original PSP. There are no FPSs and only a few games that would require the second stick to navigate the camera (e.g. Touch My Katamari).
Target Audience? Given Sony's past emphasis on attracting a different demographic than those who play on Nintendo's handhelds, it is surprising that there are only three M rated games at launch (Ninja Gaiden, Shinobido 2, and Army Corps of Hell). Furthermore, there's an abundance of 2D titles (BlazBlu: Continuum Shift Extend, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Lumines Electronic Symphony, Rayman Origins), a few games aimed at children (Ben 10 and, arguably, ModNation Racers and Little Deviants), no first person shooters, only one RPG (Dungeon Hunter: Alliance), and no sports titles from the four big leagues in the USA (NHL, NFL, NBA, or MLB). Many of these games are currently in the pipeline, but so far the Vita hasn't done much to differentiate itself as a platform to attract those audiences that blindly throw down $60 on any iteration of Madden, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, or other "core" franchises.
Spin-Off and Port City. Though the Vita lacks a lot of the big name franchises at launch, it does feature a lot of familiar titles. Only 3-4 games are representative of new IPs (the PSP only had two at launch), with the rest of the launch library representing a port of a preexisting game or a new entry in a previously established series. This is probably a safe bet for Sony, as new consoles need to have familiar names associated with them. Still, it is a strategy that could backfire given the PSP's (perhaps undeserved) reputation amongst many gamers as a home for titles that were (sometimes inferior) ports and for less impressive entries in existing series.
The Vita's Place
The hacking question. Undoubtedly the PSP's life was shortened and sales were hurt by rampant piracy. But, on the other hand, the ability of the machine to emulate a wide range of retro consoles and to play those pirated games certainly contributed to hardware sales. I personally have little interest in playing pirated Vita games, but the prospect of playing PS2, GameCube, or Dreamcast games on the device via emulation and homebrew was enough to make me drop some extra dough on the largest memory card for the system. As with any console, it is only a matter of time before hackers figure out how to do some interesting things on the Vita (some have already posted some exciting video clips of early work), and the thought of playing virtually every console game from pre-2005 on one handheld device is a tantalizing prospect.
Do Smartphones = Death? A frequent point raised by the media at the launch of the 3DS last year and with the Vita this year is the question about whether or not there's still a market for handheld gaming devices given the widespread adoption of smartphones with excellent touch-screen gaming capabilities. The argument goes something like this: "The Vita has to compete against not only Nintendo, but also against Apple and Android devices. Many quality games can be had for free or $1-$5, take up minimal storage, and are stored remotely for download as needed. In addition, smartphones can handle a lot of other tasks (web surfing, GPS navigating, etc.). Given that an iPhone can do so many things well, why do we need an additional device that does one thing better?" These questions have some merit, and the answers remain to be seen, but it is hard to imagine Sony sees the Vita as a direct competitor to any of these devices or to the 3DS (which, incidentally, has now moved over 5 million units). The PSP was certainly financially successful for Sony despite not eclipsing Nintendo in the handheld market, so is it unreasonable to expect that the Vita can be successful without being as successful as its competitors? The question, for me, is less about whether or not the Vita can surpass or stay close to the sales of the 3DS or smartphones manufacturers, but whether or not it can carve out enough of a niche for itself to have a successful run in its own right.
Is anyone else picking up a Vita this week/month? Are you enthused or bored by the launch lineup and by the potential of the system? Is handheld gaming on its way out? Share your thoughts below!
I've decided to start using a numbered system instead of just associating my post titles with dates, partly because it will enable me to add a secondary post and title it in a more intuitive manner (Backlog Gamer 4.1, 4.2, etc), but also so I won't feel so guilty when I post the main article in the middle of the week.
Not a whole lot to say this week. Due to my Game 2 selection last week I am starting to regret not being more selective with my game collecting. If I would have just put the crap down my sense of self loathing would be at an acceptable level, instead of the gargantuan level it is at now. Is this how Emo-folk feel all the time? If I go stand in the corner with my crappy game(s) and cut myself with a game manual will I feel a accomplishment? Man, that was dark.

Post Mortem Enslaved: I really enjoyed playing this game, even though I have to recognize its often glaring flaws, but instead of focusing on camera angles, proportionate bodies, and the quirks of the Unreal Engine, I think I will instead view the game as a whole experience, because I feel that taking this game as a whole is the only way to truly enjoy it (much as I felt about Jak II).

Games For This Week
Game 1 Title: GTA IV: Episodes From Liberty City
Platform: PC (Steam)
Purchase Date: 11/25/11
Cost: $2.49
I was pleasantly surprised to see this chosen as a random game, especially as I had started playing it anyway as a pallet cleanser to the piece of trash below. So far everything is fine, though in the beginning I had quite a bit of trouble with the controls. I just don't feel that I will ever be comfortable playing a GTA game with a keyboard and mouse. It just doesn't feel natural, almost like I am contorting across the keyboard like a damn Twister-nut just to powerslide into a turn. I suppose that I could just play Lost and Damned on the 360 and come back to the PC for Gay Tony (that sounded awkward), but the game looks so much better on my computer.
The only downside is that the main characters swear so much during gameplay that I can't play this during daylight hours. While this doesn't kill it, these games will take longer to complete.
Title: Stellar-Fire
Platform: Sega CD
Purchase Date:1998
Cost: $1.00
I spent around three days trying to beat this game and only managed a few levels. On the plus side I learned how to beat the game, and on the negative side I don't think I want to go through the effort. Dare I explain? In the game the goal is to collect gems, which can be easily located by following the white bar displayed on the radar. The problem is that the gems seemed to be scattered around the level, so that in some stages following the radar will almost ensure repeating the level (meaning that you will die). However, if you make a map you can find a better, more optimized route than the shitty GPS route the game gives you. This way of playing is just not an option in some of the latter stages. Should I give up? Should I pull an "Arino" and call in a AD to finished the job for me (which means using a cheat to see the ending)? Only time will tell. Likely I'll end up just giving in and making the damn maps.
Once I find an acceptable recorder I'll try to record a playthrough.
Title: Treasure Adventure Game
Platform: PC
Purchase Date: N/A
Cost: N/A
I found this little title while mindlessly clicking on links in my Bookmarks Toolbar. Even though I spend a lot of time on the Internet, I had all but forgotten that I have a Fileplanet link. Weird, huh? Although it is described as a platformer, I find it to be a pleasant combination of platforming, action, and RPG. I especially like that the game has fully customizable controls (a rarity amongst free Indies games), so I can finally assign my movement to the WASD keys and the action buttons to the arrow keys. I know you don't understand this but just believe me that it is important. I might even be able to use a gamepad. Oh, the possibilities.
Please play this. You will be surprised then you will have fun. You will exclaim the first time the character hook-grabs onto the edge of a platform, then you will want to play longer.

In The Bag For 2012 Alan Wake - 1/25 Dead Space 2 - 2/4 Portal 2 - 2/10 Enslaved - 2/17
Well its been a while. And as unfortunate as the recent fall from grace and subsequent rise to its former glory was, I cant solely blame the rfgen downtime for my absence. I've been having some computer issues and have currently sent my machine back to the manufacturer for them to deal with. I did however manage to knock several other games off my list of difficult titles and get them recorded in some fashion. Included was:
Battletoads - I've finished this a couple years ago so it was just a matter of refreshing myself. I remembered the warps fairly well and the rat race, which I remembered as being brutal, wasnt nearly as bad as before. I did have a little more trouble than expected on the Dark Queen, but overall the run was decent.
Battletoads/Double Dragon - I beat the SNES version of the game last summer and expected a significantly inferior version. I was pleasantly surprised that it was nearly indentical. Really well done beat'em up for the system and definitely one of my favorites.
Tennis - Pretty lame game. Takes a little bit of time to get used to how to position your player to hit the ball in the first place. Once you get that down its just a very boring game.
Pinball Quest - This was a recommendation on the list for challenging games. While I didnt find it that challenging, I'm still glad it was recommended. I didnt have any plans to play it in the near future and it turned out to be a lot of fun. It was a real hidden gem and just a blast to play through.
Section Z - This was one of the sweetest NES victories I've had ever. This game used to drive me nuts as a kid. My grandmother had an NES and about half a dozen games so when visiting her we would often hide in the basement and play when we had the chance. Among the small stack of games was Section Z. We never made it past the first boss. We'd often get lost and die within a few short screen.
The video is rather long and probably a bit annoying to watch. I decided to map it out as I went to you'll notice me pausing the game after most rooms so that I can scribble some notes and directions on my paper. I ended up with 3 pages of custom maps and was finally able to knock off a game that seemed impossible to my 10 year old self. Always a great feeling!!
Godzilla - Had some bigger plans for this game than I ended up showing, which I'll explain in a minute. Wasnt sure what to expect as I dont often hear people talk about this game at all. It was ok a first, but quickly becomes very repetitive. It also becomes much easier the further you go in the game. Overall kind of forgettable.
And finally a special treat, that a few of you have been bugging me about for quite some time now. A commentary video!! Now this isnt just any commentary video. I was still having some concerns with doing a solo commentary vid so I recruited one of rfgen's finest to help me conquer another title. The game was Shadowgate so I needed someone with unparalleled puzzle solving skills, an eidetic mind, and an unshakable sense of direction........ instead I ended up with Duke.Togo.
Join our quest through Shadowgate and let us know what you think. We could use any and all feedback you're willing to provide as we plan to do more videos and hope to keep improving them in any way possible. So please post anything you have to say either here on this blog or in the youtube comments.
Now the video consists of me playing for the first time ever and Duke desperatly grasping at his fleeting youth so it ended up being just over 4 hours of video in total. If your interested in seeing us talking out solutions, scratching our heads over riddles and meeting our end through some trial and error try the video from the start. If your more interested in seeing the condensed version skip ahead to 2:37:00 if you want to see a less painful playthrough. Also should point out the during the first 2:37 of the video I was using a recorder that added a nice little static sound every minute. Its failry annoying, but we got that ironed out for the last chunk of video.
Also want to thank Duke.Togo for helping me out by doing all the editing, listening to my annoying voice on skype and a ironing out a few other technical issues. Wouldnt have got this video up without his and Bickman2k's assistance. Thanks so much to the both of you.
PS - I'm heading down to Florida with my family for the next 2 weeks so dont expect to hear the soft scuffling of Crabmaster for the next little while. I'll still lurk around the forum, but I probably wont be posting a whole lot while I'm gone.
Hello everyone. Today, I present a short, simple video. All it shows is my first victory in Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3. Still, I think Shadow Kisuragi would be proud, considering he's partly responsible for getting me into this style of racing. Anyway, enjoy.
Whew, it's a good thing I decided to save my blogs, just in case something like the Great RF Generation Outage of 2012 should ever happen.
I've even added a few "enhancements" to this particular entry. Whether or not they improve upon the original version is debatable.
Anyway, here we go: take two, aaaaand... ACTION!

Hey now!
Feeling like ripping off inspired by the Procopio Brothers' Game Hunt Chronicles blog series, I figured I'd do a little bragging of my own about my best Tuesday game hauls. And Tuesday, January 24, yielded the biggest single-day score of the year for me thus far.
Let me tell you all about it:
It all began at the Savers thrift store in Milpitas. I'd just discovered a bunch of White Dwarf and Dragon back issues in the magazine section which, at $0.29 each, were a far cry from their original 6-dollars-plus cover prices. However, I had yet to see anything really good in the way of video games aside from a couple old EGMs and a CIB copy of Zoom! for the Genesis. I figured it was worth dropping $1.99 plus tax on, even if it did look like some kind of Q-Bert wannabe.
I was milling around the jewelry & electronics showcase about ready to leave, when a Savers employee arrived with a box full of CIB GameCube and PS2 games for $3.99 a pop. I was only too happy to help lighten her burden by taking the following titles before she could shelve them:
- Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - WarioWorld - Pokemon: Gale of Darkness XD - Resident Evil Zero - WarioWare: Mega Party Games! - Super Mario Strikers - Mario Superstar Baseball - Super Smash Bros. Melee (Player's Choice) - Luigi's Mansion (Player's Choice) - Rayman 2: Revolution (PS2) - Warhammer 40K: Fire Warrior (PS2)
Now, that's timing!
Next stop on my trek was the San Jose Savers. Sadly, all it yielded were a couple Prima Tomb Raider guides for $1.99 each.

Undaunted, I drove a couple miles south and arrived at the Rasputin used record store in Campbell just as it was opening. It has consistently yielded some good Tuesday game deals for me, and this day was no exception, as I grabbed the following CIB (unless noted otherwise) goodies:
- ModNation Racers (PSP) $1.95 - Chicken Blaster (Wii, disc in sleeve) $0.95 - Whacked! (XBox) $1.95 - Scarface: The World is Yours (Greatest Hits)(PS2) $0.95 - Dai Senryaku VII (XBox) $1.95
Sadly, I missed out on a CIB copy of What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord?! 2 because it was missing its price tag, which meant it had to be sent back to the main store in Berserkely to be priced. In the weeks that followed, I never saw it at either the Campbell or Mountain View locations.
Speaking of which: I culminated my Tuesday crawl with a trip up to Rasputin's new Mountain View location, where I snapped up:
- Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PSP) $5.95 - Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake (PSP) $5.95 - Gitaroo Man (PS2) $1.95 - Animal Crossing (Player's Choice)(NGC, no memory card) $0.95

And that pretty much sums up one of the most successful Tuesday game hunts I've ever undertaken.
But wait, there's more!
It's...
...the TL;DR SIDEBAR!
- My best non-Tuesday gaming pickup for this week was a sealed copy of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the 3DS for $7.99.
- My best non-gaming score of the prior week: the aforementioned back issues of White Dwarf and Dragon. Honorable mentions: a Rokenbok R/C toy controller for $1.50, and a Nerf Maverick for $0.99.

- I've apparently attained over 1000 pieces of game software and hardware. However, I decided to audit my collection to see if what I actually have matches up to what I've recorded. This process is gonna take me some time, but when it's all said and done, at least I'll know if I've really achieved the four-figure plateau. It's also a great opportunity to organize the collection, which has been getting unwieldy as of late.
- Sadly, tragedy struck in the midst of this amazing score. If you're not too squeamish or faint of heart, scroll down to see a pic of the gruesome scene:

Oh the humanity!
Until next week (if not sooner)...
...'Late
Today we continue our run through of PS2 games that could have been better. This one is an enhanced version of a PSP game, which makes it even worse than it sounds. Stay tuned for Episode 5 next week!

Hello fellow gamers! My brother and I have done a ton of shopping the last few days and it invovles mostly NES games in their boxes! And above all else a holy grail was achieved with the purchase of Earthbound! with the Strategy Guide. Another achivement is getting Bomberman II complete in box in Minty condition! The last couple of days we started off with eBay purcahses. My brother bought Earthbound, and I bought Final Fantasy NES complete in box with everything, yes that includes the map. I also bought ISS 2000 for N64 complete in box in good condition! Most of our purchases were at a local store and they are all NES games complete in boxes, game boy games complete in boxes, and a couple of SNES games complete in boxes. We have decided to call this year in our collection the Year of Nintendo. Some of the games we purchased are even BRAND NEW!!! Most everything is in pristine to mint condition, some of the eBay NES Games we bought in their boxes fair to near-mint to so so condition. We also went to Gamers and purchased Starcraft 64 for a great price even though it's just the cart, anyone have a box or manual for sale? ;-) We also went to a local store called Game Vault and purchased Fire Embelm for GBA complete in box in minty condition along with the strategy guide. Some of the best finds were Toxic Crusaders complete in box, Star Wars (on eBay) complete in box, Act Raiser 2 complete in box, Romance Three Kingdoms II complete in box, GI Joe complete in box, among others!!! This has truly been a great find these past couple of days, and thought we'd mention it on Finder's Keepers because this is a haul of a life time for us and well we think among others as well. SO here are the pictures of everythying from all the stores, PLEASE feel free to comment.

See that bad boy? That's the Arcade Game, Initial D. I first discovered this thing in 2007 or so, in an Arcade at a Mall in Richmond, VA. I noticed it used ID Cards (of sorts) to save data, and took an immediate interest in it. I sat down and played this thing...
For 2 Hours, if I recall correctly! While I did suck at it, it was still fun, and I would love to play it again. Sadly, I don't think any Arcades around here have it, and buying the thing is impossible for me. Even if I did have the funds, I doubt any company would ship it. Also, no Emulator that I'm aware of will play this game. I could be wrong though. If I am, please correct me.
Anyway, I'm left with buying the Console Version of it on PS3, which leads me to my question: What's a good PS3 Steering Wheel with Pedals? If anyone can suggest one, I'd appreciate it.
But wait! There's more to this post!
Wangan Midnight is another Illegal Japanese Street Racing game for the PS3. Shadow Kisuragi pointed me towards it. If anyone has played this game, could you please tell me about your experience playing it? I'd like to know more before I just go and import it.
Thanks for reading!
I kind of regret reposting my first Backlog Gamer article, so click here for the second one if you want to read it.
Well, my posts are getting closer to the beginning of the week. At this rate I'll be posting on day one by the middle of next month. All right me!
As I stated last week, when I first conceived this I thought it would be best to show some sport and only pick games randomly. I failed miserably when the first group of games turned out to be some of the most highly rated recently released games in my collection. However, this week I decided to play by the rules and pick randomly. Will I be rewarded for my honesty, or will I feel the flames of redemption?
Post Mortem Portal 2: Wow. I mean, wow. The only way I think I can express myself properly is to directly beam the information to your brain in the pure emotional content (so as to not spoil the nice bits). Ready? Errrrrm. Got it? Yeah, what did I tell you! Awesome, right?
Games List For This Week Game 1: Enslaved Game 2: Stellar-Fire Game 3: Kyle's Quest 2
Title: Enslaved Platform: Xbox 360 Purchase Date: 9/29/11 Cost: $9.99
At last, Enslaved finally gets the attention it deserves. I know that in the past I seemed a little "blah" on it, stating that it seemed a little average and maybe generic. I would now like to formally take this back. Sure, in some cases the action can be a bit predictable (I'm speaking specifically of the general direction of the action, not the action itself), but Enslaved has sunk its claws into me, and not just the story this time: The characters, action , along with the story are equally as important to my experience. I especially enjoy how, for all his supposed strength, Monkey is often completely outmatched by the mechs in combat (even against the "weaker" ones) and is forced to rely almost exclusively on his unmatched agility.
If I reviewed games I would give this game a solid B as long as it holds out to the end.

Title: Stellar-Fire Platform: Sega CD Purchase Date: 1998 Cost: $1.00
The funny thing is that I thought for sure that most of the games I randomly picked would end up being PC or NES games, which makes sense as those platforms make up over 26% and 20% of my collection (respectively). In the end I think I had to hit the random button three times. The first two were either demos or games I'd already beaten, and on the third Stellar-Fire popped up. I have to admit I am rather nervous. I have never played this game, not even to test. I purchased all of my Sega CD games in a lot, and I was only really interested in the Working Designs games that came with it.
Playing this game might prove a little harder, as my Sega CD was acting "weird" the last time I booted it up. Therefore, I will use my laptop as an emulator, which should be interesting at the very least.

Title: Kyle's Quest 2 Platform: iOS Purchase Date: N/A Cost: N/A
Once upon a time there was a group of devices called PDAs. While they were mainly for organizational and productivity purposes, it turned out that people wanted to also play games. Many of these games were fun, but most sucked. A game that didn't suck on this platform was a little series called Kyle's Quest. At heart modeled after 8-bit role playing games, this two Kyle's Quest games featured Japanese-inspired big-head characters but with a nice Western twist: you could make your own adventures. While this sort of control didn't appeal to everyone, it wasn't long before there were a ton of great adventures to play. While the games weren't free (very little quality titles were free on PDAs) the adventures were, meaning that one could easily make the $14.99 price tags a non-issue.
Kyle's Quest 2 (and the innumerable downloads for it) provided me many hours of entertainment in a very dark part of my life. Because of this I didn't expect to care much when I found this game in the iOS App Store (just thinking about it brought back memories of hospital-sterility) for free, but I was surprised. Though the game has lost the ability to load player made levels from the Internet, there are still twenty different games loaded in, and since many of them are short, they fit the aesthetics of a mobile platform.
I don't see myself deleting this game on Monday as I have done with the previous weeks "Game 3" title.

Hello FELLOW GAMERS! This is a personal gamers debate log! First off I'd like to say RF GENERATION is the best collecting website out there! I have been on a few sites while I think NintendoAge and SegaAGE are separate from RF Generation in the sense of total collecting. While RF Generation gears towards all systems and games which gives it my 10 out of 10 rating, NA and SA gear toward only just that Nintendo and Sega. The forums are pretty good on those sites and the administrators are pretty cool as well. BUT this site is the best because they have everything! Yes that includes great Admin's. If it wasn't for this site I wouldn't be able to track my brother's and mines collection!!! We do use Collectorz because its a good site to hold all information and prices for our games and so much more, again not tied into this topic because it's a home based product, I don't use there Collectorz Connect for one it costs money. SO let's move onto that RF is free to users to catalog their games!! This site helps collectors know what they have, whether it'd be games complete in their boxes, just have the carts, or heck just have the manuals. The only thing that needs added (see other blogs for this) is strategy guides, but my brother and I are working on that site and hope to work with RF Generation. I recommend this site to every collector I know because it's a good database to store their game collection!
SO for those gamers out there that meet new collectors! Pass RF Generation on to them! The more collector's the better the community! So Live On CHANNEL 3!

KEEP IT REAL ON CHANNEL 3!
When you were young did your parents ever just throw away your video game systems and game boxes?? The proverbial saying "Yeah, my mom threw out my baseball cards when I moved out of the house." Well that saying just doesn't go with baseball cards but VIDEO GAME STUFF AS WELL!!! My parents had collected Atari before I was even born they threw away all of their boxes but a half of one that they used to hold the manuals in Frogger. My parents also gave away a lot of stuff too like the Timex Computer which was used to play video games kind of like a dinosaur of handheld video games. As late as the year 2002 my parents threw away video game boxes particularly my Mother! who deemed that since they were just cardboard they were worth NOTHING! Well MOM your WRONG! Haha Video games are worth way more complete and above all else its just sentimental to say wow! I have a complete in box EARTHBOUND in mint condition like new! (Sadly I don't at this time) Parents from the Atari age just don't understand that video games are of value especially games from there era!!! Sorry for some of you that are on here and are Atari area (but I was born in 1983 so I am still part of that era). My father worked for a place called Lionel Playworld (I so wish he still did, I really need a time machine to stop myself as a kid and my parents). I bet everyone that had parents like mine wishes they had a time machine to go back and give yourself at a young age and your parents a smack in the back of the head! I know some collector's out there they parents did keep everything! But for us collectors who didn't we are picking the slack up now finding anything we can in the box (except for the occasional collector who doesn't care about the boxes-SHAME ON YOU!).
But ANY THOUGHTS?? Let's talk and just relieve the horrible memories and relax and then think about how things have gotten better since!
ALSO SHAME ON PARENTS THAT THROW AWAY STUFF STILL TODAY!!!
Hey everyone! My brother and I did some more shopping recently at HPB and NFM. I purchased the Collector's Edition of Lord of the Rings War of the North for PS3 for $40.00 and my brother picked up quite a few PC games that range from $2.99 to $9.99 (which were all the the Advanced D&D games) from HPB and he also bought the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. I hope you all enjoy the pictures. Please comment.
