I just wish i was matched up with ANYONE but Den last week. I thought i was going to be lucky because Shadys QB would have been pasing to my wide reciever. But my guy got almost no play.

Well last week, Rick (shady) and I were up against each other.  I got 100 something points and he got 90.....  so if you had been up against either of us, you would have lost worse than you did to Den.  Most of the other weeks, though, you'd beat me (and did) or Rick.

there's no real science to this and luck is a huge factor. In the league I'm in at work one guy had the 2nd most points the first 4 weeks and lost every game.

for the first timers, what do you think so far?

It's alot better when you are responsible for your own draft as well.  It actually takes a decent amount of research to get a good team that way.

I'm enjoying it a lot.  Den, you were definitely right about it making a lot of the other games I would normally ignore more interesting.  That's what I like most about it.  It gives me more football to care about when my Bengals are horrible year after year.

As for the draft, I was very glad we did it the way we did this time around.  Since this was my first time, it made it a lot easier that Yahoo just auto-picked from the ordered list I made up.  I kinda got screwed by my order since my first four or so WR's were already gone by the time Yahoo got to each of them, but it still made it easier for me to have it auto-pick.  Next season a "normal" draft would be cool to try.

live drafts are a lot of fun. more challenging for sure. this will be a good way for everyone to get a feel for fantasy football and we can do a live draft next year.

trust me, you do fantasy football for a while and you'll be able to name the starters for just about every team off the top of your head. after a while you'll even start to identify them by their fantasy value.

Thank goodness for 106 yard interception returns.  That single play by the Baltimore defense changed my score this week by twelve points.  I hope to the god that doesn't exist that Peyton Manning pulls off a really good game tomorrow.  I can't believe how well Denver and New England did today.....  Yuck.  And what's up with Grahm (Patriots)?  Is he even playing?  I don't think he's had a single reception in several weeks.  I still am in need of serious TE and WR changes.  I just can't seem to get it right at those positions.  All the guys I know will produce are already taken, and since my knowledge of NFL players is still very limited (I'm a Bengals fan, remember?), I have a lot of learning to do.

there are not many tight ends that produce all that much. I'm glad I snagged Antonio Gates, that guy is having a hell of a year.

If all the "money" TE's have been taken then I suggest you pick up a TE who will get you 2 - 3 points a week.
I am in a 20 man league over at digitpress and the lack of talent left is nerve racking.

I was happy to get Chad Lewis :-/ But I did get pretty lucky picking up Randy Moss , David Givens and Anqon Boldin. I think my recieving crew is probably the deepest in the league. Now if I could only have that luck with Running backs. I had McGahee but he wasnt doing anything for the first 4 weeks and I needed a roster spot so I dropped him. Now he is a beast. (Screw you McGahee) :cussing:

Didn't McGahee play at Miami (Florida) the year Ohio State beat them for the national championship?  Or am I thinking of somebody else?

Yeah , thats him. The Bills picked him in last years draft and let him rehab all last year. Now it looks as if it is paying off.

Den, I was looking at the 24 points you got out of Vinatieri this week, wondering how in the hell that was possible from a kicker.  Then I remembered his TD pass.  That's just downright crazy to get 24 points from a kicker in a single game.

I have a friend in another league who left Vinaterri on his bench in favor of Mike Vanderjagt this week.  Heh heh, sucks for him.
