Welcome to the first episode of our new podcast. Prepare to be captivated and amazed as your own Crabmaster2000 and Duke.Togo talk to each other about old video game stuff and collecting it! It is almost like you are there with them (but that would be creepy.)

In this episode we speak about some of the nice grabs that individuals on RF Generation made in April. Do we talk about your scores? You will have to listen to find out!

Next up, we introduce ourselves as collectors and then hit the main topic: why do we collect?

Both of us thank you for taking the time to listen. We welcome your feedback, and look for episode 2 next month! Please subscribe!

wow! Nice surprise! I'm looking forward to listening... Cheesy

Crabs looks just stunning in that tennis outfit!

And Dukey... keep those sideburns tight, buddy!

Good picture. Who made it? Smiley

I'm an artist, what can I say? Oh, and 'Norch: always.

Podcasts are worth like 10k for the submission contest, correct?

@Crabmaster2000:
Technically, you're staff, so that counts as 10k/2, right?

Just finished listening to the podcast, and loved it. It was really nice to hear you guys talk about the DB and how much fun and rewarding it can be to add info/pictures to it. It was also pretty cool to be mentioned, especially during my favorite part of collecting, actually making a profit from it!

Keep up the awesome work!

@NES_Rules: Thanks for the feedback Mike!

Anyone else that has listened please let us know what you thought. The good and definitely the bad so we can keep improving.

@NES_Rules: Glad you liked it! I definitely want to promote the site and our community as much as possible. Very glad to hear the feedback.

I loved it! Smiley

Great job! And great artwork too!

Remind me to take photos for you guys next time. King's Quest V is the original, 1st Edition Floppy Disk. Smiley
Also, a quick check showed it was worth $60. I'll unload it if you want.

A podcast about collecting?  WOOHOO!  Plus, you guys must be really dedicated, seeing that both of you must have had to done a bit of waxing for that picture...

@bombatomba: I'm just naturally hairless. No dedication at all!

Listened to it today. You two did a good job. The flow, topics and close community feel, you guys did just right.

I thought the first podcast went along swimmingly.  Good flow and I like how you guys really advertised the site.  I actually think we've probably already gotten a few new members from it.  Thanks for the shout out my fellow partners in NES completion crime.

@bombatomba: It's all about the aerodynamics.

@singlebanana: Yes sir. Need to keep the Nintendo kids happy.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. I'm really hoping that it will bring more collectors to us (and more people to trade with Grin )

@theGrue:
Thanks Grue. Now to submit it to Zune...

It was great, guys. I want to be on it.

@wildbil52: If we decide to add interviews at some point I will keep you in mind.

@Shadow Kisuragi: Do they put podcasts on the Zune marketplace?

@Duke.Togo:
Yeah. I just submitted it. They have a tendency to be slow about it, though.

@Shadow Kisuragi: Thanks!

Wow, as of right now we are #13 in the Video Game podcast rankings on Podomatic. Spread the word and let's see if we can crack the top 10!

@Duke.Togo: I couldnt find any giant foam hands that had #13 on them Sad

@Crabmaster2000: Well #13 fits me perfectly Wink

I've finally finished the podcast.  Excellent job, gentlemen!  Regardless of any podcast rankings I can say that your work fits a niche in my listening schedule that was previously only filled by certain segments of Retro Gaming Roundup.  In just one episode you've managed to get me thinking about the genesis of my own collecting habits, and You've even made me miss The Hunt, which I haven't been able to enjoy in several years now.

Great job and I'll be refreshing the feed on my phone every week in anticipation of the next episode.

@bombatomba: Wonderful, I'm very glad to hear it. I also listen to Retro Gaming Roundup, and those are a great bunch of guys. I met SoCal and Scott at CGE in 2010.

The plan is to have a new episode towards the beginning of each month, so keep an eye out in early June. Good luck in your hunting, and maybe you'll have a score we can talk about soon.

Great podcast guys, especially for a first episode.  Please make more of these!

@Slowman: Thanks! We're planning episode 2 now, and look for it next month.

We've done so well in fact that we have hit the Podomatic free bandwidth limit. If you can't access the podcast that way, you can always check it out on YouTube.

If you feel moved to do so, there is also a PayPal donate button on our Podomatic page that can help us upgrade to have more bandwidth.

Again, thanks everyone so much for all the kind words and support.

Hmm... I'm not finding it.  Leave the PayPal address here or send me a message, I'll donate to feed my podcast addiction.  Smiley

Great first episode you guys. Cheesy

I will say that I straddle the line between gamer and collector quite often. So it was intriguing.

My feedback, and I hope you want me  to be brutally honest?

I felt like the mics were off a bit. Meaning that one of you were much louder than the other. This should be a simple fix, and I chalk it to first-time-itis of course.

I also think that proper segments could help. Meaning, much of it just felt like two dudes talking and sort of leading in to whatever conversation came next. Maybe that's not a bad a thing, but it might help to have actual segments by subject, with the music separating them.

But these are small nit-picks.

IT was a great show and I enjoyed it greatly. Keep up the good work and maybe just aim to organize it slightly tighter. But that said, I really think you guys are on to something!

@Slowman: Wow, thanks for that vote of support! You can find the donate button on the right side of the main Podcast page: http://rfgenerationcollectorcast.podomatic.com/

If you still have problems finding it PM me and I'll send you the address. All donations will go directly to the show.

@noiseredux: Thanks for the feedback. We're both new to the podcasting bit, and it is a learning experience trying to get the audio just right. I've done a little reading since the first episode, so I hope to keep things more even next time. Bear with us Wink

We did work from an outline, but the conversational tone is mostly by design.

We're doing this for the love of the hobby, and sharing our thoughts with everyone. Hopefully it will bring more users to RF Gen, and get more discussions around collecting started.

@Duke.Togo: Well said!

@Crabmaster2000: I've been wondering where you have been hiding (>.>)

@Duke.Togo: Been hiding in the submission station all week. Gotta..... beat...... aeroc......ugh

@Crabmaster2000:
We really should kill the value on screenshots next year... Smiley

@Shadow Kisuragi: Cheesy

How much do you guys need to raise the bandwidth limit? Is it a monthly or one-time cost?
