No worries Boshamp, I kinda figured that was the case Wink

I was afraid it would be too easy to google an unedited screenshot for the answer, so the far left of the shot is missing a little, but I was hoping someone else had played this one at some point. It was very short due to the nature of its release, but also it was released outside of conventional stores and only available for a few short days along the tour. Does anyone have any guesses before I give it away? It isn't in our site's database.

Another hint would be nice... I was aware of the promotion, but not the game.
HINT: This was a giveaway as part of a soda promotion.

Lost Island of Alanna?

I bought this game a little while ago and made a point of showing off that it was a Cherry Coke game.

Pretty sure that's it. 1998, for reference (I think). I'll let Boshamp confirm. Cheesy

also i don't think anyone clarified for boshamp about why others were jumping in out of turn, as far as i understand it the general rules are:

 - person who correctly guesses the game gets to post the next screenshot for people to guess
 - if that person hasn't posted in 24 hours then anyone who wants to can post one screenshot out of turn to keep the thread active

not that anyone here minds a bit of rule bending here and there, but i think this is the basic idea in this thread (as well as the movie screenshot identifying game in one of the other forum sections)

I am sorry for the delay. I was on vacation for Memorial day and where I went...there was no internet and no cell service. My last hint came posted from my phone a few miles outside of Casper, WY...after that. I went off the radar.

But yes...It is the Lost Island of Alanna from 1998. Cherry Coke got a new branding and logo, (Missing from the screenshot), and they gave this game out over a five day massive promotion at different locations across the county. My father picked one up while taking us to the children's museum in Denver while I was loading my pockets and arms with as much soda as I could carry...In hindsight...I should have grabbed multiple games if I could. I also have a pic up for the Movie Screenshot game right now, it's like a two-thirds hat trick or something....

Gosh...that looks like one of the PC shooters my friend would play when I was hogging the 64...Red faction, maybe? or Unreal Tournament?

IF I remember correctly, this was part of Sierra's lineup at one point.

No, it's not those.

Though I'm not absolutely sure, I'm pretty certain this never belonged to Sierra.

I know at least a couple people on the site play this game....

Yep, it's Urban Terrror.

For those that don't know, it's a free FPS that is pretty fun with a good community and people to actually play with. If you have a PC from anytime during the last several years, it should run fine. It's really light weight, it takes me about 10 seconds to load up the game, join a server and start playing:   http://www.urbanterror.info/home/
