I hope they make the long awaited sequel to the Atari 2600 ET!

Sweet ! Now him and Lucas can get together and make a masterpiece ! Then 5 years later rerelease it with a few upgrades.... Then 10 years later they can release it with everything completely changed as to how they originally envisioned it should have been.  Tongue

EA already does that, but with 1 year inbetween.

I can't say I care much about this news. Good movie-makers aren't neccessarily make good video game-makers.

EA will own the intellectual property and the games, which it will develop, publish and distribute. Spielberg gets the first crack at turning the games into film or television productions.

so they are going to design games with the intent that they be turned into movies or TV shows.

based on the stellar list of games based on movies and movies based on games this is sure to be a recipe for great success.

I'm not too excited either. hopefully they will come up with something good though. most likely they'll be more concerned with making a buck than making something good.

Seems more likely to me that Spielberg is trying to get a piece of the pie with a Dreamworks gaming division after all these years of seeing his buddy's Lucasarts doing so well Smiley

Why does the gaming industry kowtow to hollywood still, when it is doing so much better than the movie industry? I'm not really excited to see the crap games spielberg plans to make.
