My PS2 finally gave up the ghost and started telling me this last week, coincidentally! Fortunately I was in a brave mood at the time (and really wanted to play Killer7) so I checked up on the web about them and read cleaning the lens would fix it. I popped the top off and did exactly as told, and now it works a treat. As good as the day I bought it! I don't even have to wait on the "browser" screen anymore. Still, what a terrible thing to happen to a console that's only a few years old.
