Have you ever downloaded content for a console?

Yes. And I've paid for it sometimes. The first game that inspired me to do so was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I. I loved the game, and I "HAD" to have the Yavin Station additional content. Cool

Not sure exactly what that is. I'm assuming that it's not the simple fact of dl'ing roms for old games, which I do on a continuous basis.

What it means is like for example, downloading extra levels or content for Halo or Gears of War or something like that.

Ah, alright. I understand now. Thanks. I'll have to vote no then since I can't play those 3D games. Sad

sorta...
For the Dreamcast I've downloaded gamesaves with the "content" unlocked.  Its not a true download because all of it was initially included on the GD-Rom, like the "extra" songs on Samba de Amigo.

Also, on Xbox, I've used the DOA3 booster included on their Exhibition demo disc.  Extra costumes for just about everyone.

EDIT:
Izret101's post reminded me of the Halo 2 Map Packs which are available separately on Live or combined with extras on a disk.  I've used the disk.  It could be considered a download since the data that is dumped to my Xbox is the same as from Live...  sorta

Both Xbox and Xbox 360 games. Xbox games have a surprisingly large amount of content available to them, most of it free. I'm sure I've got at least 10 games with content or more just for the Xbox alone. After my account expired I never bothered to check for my others games after that.

The Xbox 360 has buckets of content, some good, some crap. Other than the point card I bought when I bought my 360 which didn't take me far everything else has been freebies. It's nice that Live Silver is free because you don't have to pay Live's monthly fee to connect and grab the free stuff anymore for those games that are backwards compatible.

Only if it is free. I want the new Crackdown stuff but I am going to wait and see if it is free in the next couple months.

I've got quite a few games from the Wii VC and most of the Xbox Live Arcade games. Also got all of the Halo 2 map packs, the Oblivion stuff (yes, even the horse armor), a few choice themes and gamer pics, and some tv shows I just had to have. What can I say? Chicks like to shop...lol
