I doubt ANYTHING will change regarding EA's current stance on microtransactions and such.  A CEO change won't do much for EA.

Stock price plummetted in 2008/2009 (not sure how much is attributable to economy), so I doubt they'll move away from their "service" model transactions.

Most of the stock price plummet was due to the recession here in the US - EA's stock price at the time was a bit inflated, as were most of the video game industry at the time. EA also had a transition period where corporate restructuring was taking place.
