Shameless plug for a game I'm supporting on kickstarter and really hope will get funded.

Its a 2d open world space game with elements of elite and the procedural generation of characters and back story, but more than anything it looks like the evolution of one of my all time favorite games: Escape Velocity on the mac

Other cool things are it will be DRM free with full mod support, it also already at the alpha stage the funding is to finish the game.
