amen

congrats on your house.

Ditto.  Congrats!  I found out that I'm closing on the 23rd of this month.  Just have to keep packing crap away.  I actually already packed all my console game stuff.  I had to make sure that was ready to move. Cool

What's even crazier is how much crap that you didn't realize that you need to buy.  Let's see... paint, lawnmower, garage door opener, window blinds (wife HAS to have the wood ones), dehumidifier for the basement, etc etc.

Oh well, it'll be worth being poor for the next couple months.

When the morgage is paid off, I get my parents house. The are very anal about me owning my "childhood" house. Works great for me, because I don't want to move out of the area, and they want to move down south when my mom retires in 4 years -- my dad retired last year.

Yay for me?!

Wow!  Congrats!  My parents sold our house in Detroit earlier this year and offered it to me first, but I had to get out of the city.  Besides the house sucks and I don't like the neighborhood is horrible.
