Codemasters' Overlord Xbox 360 Demo Available Now - Puts Fun into Feudal Repression

"There's a Minion horde ready to pulse through your download pipeline as Codemasters today announced the release of the Overlord™ playable demo for the Xbox 360™ videogame and entertainment system from Microsoft. Available for download now from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace, the demo gives gamers their first opportunity to see just how truly evil a ruler they can be. Overlord is planned to release June 26th for the Xbox 360 and the PC."

"In the full version of Overlord, players will be able to amass armies of up to 50 Minions from all four Minion types to lead into battle."

Sounds like an interesting game. I am going to have to download it.

I downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Definitely looks interesting.

It was quirky. I've heard Pikmin comparisons but since I haven't played Pikmin I can't speak on that regard. The enviroment reminds me a lot of Fable.

I agree. The screens and videos I've seen do look Fable-ish.

Tan, how did it play out? Fun?

Yes very fun. Very Fable-ish as well, but with a dark sense of humor. Your evil deeds fall somewhere between cliche comedy evil and delinquency. A third person sword and sorcery adventure with item gathering, exploration, minor puzzle solving and minor RTS elements. That sounds like a tall order but it's very easy to play.
