Now that Snake is part of the Nintendo SSBB game its time to go back and look for some of my old Metal Gear art works, I drew this back in 98 one year after the release of MGS for the old PS1. I LOVE the old Metal Gear game for the old NES and MSX2 and I still have them in my collection.

On the image you'll see some key Characters,

from Left to right:
Kyle Schneider.
Frank Jaeger (Grey Fox) - the one whos tided up.
Solid Snake.
Jennifer.
Diane.
Big Boss.
Enemy Soldier.
And yes Metal Gear Tank on the backdrop.

As you can see its title Metal Gear 1987 because the very first Metal Gear game was made in 87 for MSX2 then later NES/Famicom. Then in 88 the US version was out.

MG games I have:
Metal Gear for NES - http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/metal-gear
Metal Gear for MSX2 - http://www.mobygames.com/game/msx/metal-gear
Metal Gear for MS DOS - http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/metal-gear
Metal Gear for Commodore 64 (Thats RIGHT C64 its that old) - http://www.mobygames.com/game/c64/metal-gear

Nice picture you made there. You have great artistic ability.
I don't have any of those MSX2, MS DOS, or Commodore 64. Although I had an NES, I didn't play a Metal Gear game until Metal Gear Solid came out on PS1 back when I was in High School. I'm a huge fan of the Metal Gear Solid series.

I have...
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes(GC)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty(PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (Xbox)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence(PS2)

Also I have both Metal Gear and Snake's Revenge for NES, but I have not played either though to the end. I do plan on buying Metal Gear Solid: Essential Collection, mainly because I sold my MGS1 back when I needed some money. Finally, I have started saving for Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 Bundle, but I may end up waiting until Christmas of 2008 to buy that. Sad

MGS is a great series, I too though never really played it on the NES, I first experienced it on the PS1. To this day it is one of my top 5 games of all time.

Of all the Metal Gear games the only one I have played for more then 10 minutes is the NES one. I played that when I was a kid.
