Your cousin did, but he didn't even open it yet.
I played the demo for about fifteen minutes, which consisted of a whole bunch of Metal Gear Solid's weak point: REALLY long dialogue about shit like: "All I know how to do is kill. On the battlefield, the only thing that matters is the mission. I'll cry when I'm done killing; bla, blah, blah blah, blah blah......" That went on for fifteen or twenty minutes and I finally got to start killing animals and sneaking past guards. Then I went to dinner, came back, and the demo was back on the main screen. Apparently there is some sort of timer on it. I'll have to give it another shot, but I hope to hell that I can skip through the dialogue easily. Some of it was pretty long, drawn out, and pointless.

I've been trying to avoid any exposure to this because I don't want to go out and buy it right now. However, Not a day goes by when I don't see the commercial or my friends bring it up. Looks like the decision to buy it isn't up to me....

I bet it is awesome once you get past the extended dialogue that made MGS and moreso MGS2 drag at times. I think I
rated (nudge, nudge)
MGS a 100% and MGS2 an 80 or 85%. The first one was absolutely amazing... maybe the best game released on PS1. The second one was great, but could have been SO much better had the story not sucked and Raiden not been a fairy. I haven't played the remake of the original, though. Anyone have any thoughts on that one while we're waiting for a verdict on Snake Eater?

I haven't played any of them except the NES one for about 10 minutes.
For a possible end game spoiler veiw below. I can't verify if it could or could not be true because i know so little about the MG series.
[hidden style=1 title=Hidden Text] I was told that at the end of Snake Eater at the end you find out you are really Big Boss. I don't know who that is or what it has to do with the story line but i pretended to know.[/hidden]

just to make sure that someone doesnt hate me for somehow spoiling something:[hidden style=1 title=Hidden Text]I knew that you were really playing as Big Bosswhen in the intro to the demo that it is 1964 or sometime around there. Since I have not played the game I do wonder about how the events in the game tie into ther other MGS games[/hidden]

Well, buy the game and find out. You shan't be dissapointed. Unless you hate Sneaking Games. Then you're screwed.
