Sirgin - just to clarify, the DSi had exclusive physical releases here in the US at least. There weren't many, but they exist.

Didn't know that.

But atleast they called the DSi the "DSi" and not just the "new DS". That indicates that something has changed. Using the word "new" is very misleading, as people will think it's just a 3DS. In a few years, people will be referring to it as just the "3DS", which will add to the confusing.

I wouldn't have minded at all had Nintendo come out and said "this is the XDS, it's our new handheld. Oh, it's backwards compatible with 3DS." That would have been cool.

The Xbox One is another incredibly daft name. Check out this Xbox 1 game! No wait, I meant the original Xbox. Roll Eyes

Hehe, yeah.  Maybe this is just a working title and not final.  Maybe they are just trying to copy off of Apple again (who names the iPad3 "The New iPad").  But then again they did manage to name a game system after an American baby-slang term for urination, so who knows.

I love handhelds, and I'll probably end up buying this eventually.  Whether or not I replace my 3DS XL with a new one, or just buy the "New" version remains to be seen.

I'm not sure I like the look of the NES one.

@techwizard: It sucks that it doesn't come with the game. Just the 3DS.

Now do I trade my 3ds and my XL towards this to upgrade? I just dropped $150 for smash 3ds, WiiU bundle. Blast now this. The only way I got a dsi was someone lost one at the movies I work at and never came back for it. I played a few games and liked it. The 3ds was out by than so grabbed one on craigslist. Had that till about 4 months ago when I got the dream team XL version.

Darn you Nintendo

personally i don't think it's worth dropping whatever you have for any other bundle/cover design unless you're collecting 3DS. they come out with so many of these now that there's always going to be another cool one just around the corner. now if you're upgrading from a basic to an XL, or even from XL to the new 3DS when it eventually comes then that would be worth it.

I mean, this is cool I guess, but with the NEW 3DS XL coming just months from now - who is buying this?

picking up the New 3Ds XL this friday. I sold enough items I had to cover the cost, and already have a buyer for my old 3Ds XL system. I have the Mario & Luigi Dream Team edition.

I'm going to film me getting it and unboxing and all that jazz. I order a vinyl decal from decalgirl.com as well to make my own Majora's Mask edition. which I think looks way better

I feel my collection needs either a nice CIB NES Action Set or a loose PC Engine Duo, before getting the "New" 3DS.

That's pretty nice, Russ.

I do wish that I could just walk into a store and purchase the New Majora version.  I wasn't planning on getting one but I get the itch on hardware release days so I took a half hour break and went to my local Target, Gamestop, and Best Buy because they weren't answering their phones.  None of the stores received any.  I may have to settle for the black eventually but no rush.  Just a bigger screen to Street Pass on.
