HEY NOW!

Brace yourselves, Skylanders fans... it's time to get SUPER-CHARGED!

It all started when my highly esteemed colleague Shadow Kisuragi PM'd me this:

Then I did some more digging, and uncovered this:

http://www.forbes.com/sit...hise-needs-to-stay-ahead/

http://www.youtube.com/wa...h?t=227&v=LdNBx8Xdufc

Kinda interesting, but nothing really new I'll admit.

But I wasn't really sold on the latest series until I saw the new Stealth Elf, gettin' Ratchet-&-Clanky wit' it:

...aaaaand, judging from this illustration, it looks like yet another version of Trigger Happy will be headin' our way:

One downside: it looks like you're gonna need yet another portal for the new gimmick to work, and it doesn't appear to have support for the Trap Team traps.

All righty, back to you...

Ugh, I can't keep up. Still have to play Swap Force and the copy of Disney Infinity you sent me.

I only need the regular versions of Snap Shot and Food Fight, and my Trap Team collection is complete as far as I'm concerned.

Hey, you know what? I just dug up the Jack Sparrow figure that originally came with what I sent you. I'll try to send it off one of these weeks.

@Zag: Everything I've been reading says you can use the Trap Team portal.

from http://skylanderscharacte...-superchargers-knowledge/

Portal:

There is a new Portal for Skylanders SuperChargers, however it is not a necessity!

The new Portal was designed simply to give you more space, as a Vehicle, two Skylanders, and perhaps even a Magic Item could get crowded on an older Portal.

However, if you do not wish to purchase a new Portal, this means you have options. Skylanders SuperChargers will be released digitally on the consoles (details below). So if you choose to go this route, you can supplement the digital version will an older Portal.

In any case, aside from being larger, the new Portal does provide a Trap Slot. This Trap Slot is similar to the one in Trap Team, but the speaker has been removed and the Traps will not light up as they do with the Traptanium Portal.

Simple right?  Huh

Indeed. Well, at least I'll be able to use my trappable villain buddies, then. If I can't go into battle with the Broccoli Guy, then what's the point?

Oh, so they'll release Portal Owner's Starter Sets, but not with a physical copy of the game? Guess I'll be preordering the full set, then, since I much prefer a meatspace copy of the game, especially for Wii U. But first, I gotta see if they'll be releasing Dark Edition starters first. I also wonder if they'll put something out for the 3DS. As scaled-down as the past 3DS offerings were, they were still pretty enjoyable.

@Zag: This Saturday (6/27/15) is Skylander's Day at Gamestop. It you preorder you receive a tech trap with Steampunk Shrednaught and a poster. Looks like a bunch of buy one get one free on characters as well.

Sadly, I had to work all day that day. Besides, I'm still waiting to see if they'll be putting out a dark edition starter. Bummer about missing out on the shrednaught trap though. I also wonder if they had specials  on the eon's elite figs?

All I'm looking for right now is a loose ghost roaster, regular snap shot, and regular food fight. Ghost roaster is fairly rare, so I know I'll be paying a bit more for him than I'd prefer. Them's the breaks some times...

Aw weak... looks like the Wii and 3DS releases are just kart-racing games. At least the 3DS versions of the previous games were proper action-platformer deals. Looks like I'll be waiting for a significant price drop on these...

Aaaand Amazon won't let me use my credit points on pre-orders...  Angry

Apparently. But unlike the Wii U release, the Wii version--and 3ds version -- is a kart-racing game and not the full action-adventure-with-light-RPG game that will be on the other console releases. I just hope that Bowser is compatible with the Wii U game for the on-foot battling parts as well as the vehicular battles. I'd like to see how well he'll hit it off with the Broccoli Guy.  Grin

One month and one day 'til Superchargers drops.

Preorder your set at G*meSt*p between now and August 25, and get a core Trap Team figure for free!
