I think I may have mentioned them before, but oh well.

A guy once told me there was a code for MKII on the arcade so that you could get free credits.

Someone told me you could play Master System games on a BBC by using the RAM slots.

I knew a guy who used to lie about things he had so much.  Once he told me he had a Mega Drive and a load of games at home, which miraculously disappeared when I went around next time, because he 'had to give it back'.  I think he might have lied about a load of Game & Watches as well.

That's all I can remember at the moment.

I saw the following post at another forum:

http://www.nesworld.com/c...on=display;num=1108695742

The guy also claimed to have a NWC cart and used a phony pic from the internet + more lies.  The NWC post should be somewhere on that forum as well.

Here's one I bet you've all heard.

I have had quite a few people claim to have modded systems which will play games from multiple current generation platforms. For instance, a PS2 that will play X-Box and Gamecube games, or an X-Box that plays PS2 games. I suppose it might be sorta kinda a little possible if you actually gutted a PS2 and plugged the whole system into an X-Box case. But then you'd need a bigger case to fit the PS2 guts and I'm pretty sure the finished product wouldn't even resemble an X-box anymore. If you wanted it to play GC games it would just get more ridiculous from there. Nevermind the fact that you would have to buy all three systems and then spend at least $150 modding the whole mess to do it in the first place, which completely defeats the purpose.

I know this one guy who claims he has a prototype PS2 that plays Gamecube, Dreamcast, and PC games, as well as PS1 and PS2 games. All in one disc drive too!

I've heard employees at best buy tell people that crap. I hate that soooo much. Do they really think that they are cool for doing that?

I can't believe Best Buy has employees telling people that crap! Did they actually claim that their system mods can play other system's games? Or did they just mod it to have a bigger hard drive or something?

I've heard a lot of the system combo ones as well.  One of the best was when this guy claimed to have a "prototype" Dreamcast that would also play PS2 games.  He said Sega was going to release it but never did.  Of course they decided to give him the leftover prototype.

The nude-ality and nude raider codes were also ones I heard a lot, having grown up around the same idiots as Leon.  I also remember hearing about codes that supposedly made Chun Li naked.

I wish I could remember more of these.  I've heard a million of them but many just aren't coming to mind at the moment.  I can remember a few specific people I grew up with that had a new one every day, but I can't think of a specific story right now.  Of course one of them bought a CD-i when it was new and boasted about how great it is - a true testament to his delusional nature.

I saw some NASCAR today while talking about PS2 with my dad and was reminded of my stepbro.
At which point I broke out laughing.

I remember in 2003 when he bought the new NASCAR game and he was talking about how he was teling me how he could take his game online during whenever a NASCAR race was happening on TV and he wuold be racing ghosts in game of the racers on TV.
So he could see how good he was vs. the real racers.

It was possibly the worst lie i have heard to date.

That looks pretty fishy.  Take a look at the bid history:

Japanese Mortal Kombat 2 on PS is actually ub3r OMG r@r3.
Acording to DP 200-300$

UMK3 on genesis can fetch 20+ in shops on ebay it varies largely.

I think there are one or 2 more that hold pretty good value.
