I'm going to claim Equinox for my next game.  Its been sitting unplayed on my shelf for too long.

Let me know how this one is.  I liked Solstice on the NES and this is the sequel to this.

Claiming and beat Mega Man X3!

Recently got a SFC copy and can say I enjoyed it a good amount but I don't think it holds up quite as well as the first two. There's a bit too much backtracking at points, Zero's inclusion as a playable character seemed really gimmicky, and the hit box on Sigma's final phase was very poorly placed. The gameplay and level design felt very on brand but felt a bit drawn out at times.

I definitely still recommend that people play X3 for its tight platforming and solid gameplay loop but bear in mind that it may not offer the same highs as its predecessors.

I've only played the first one.  Which one is your favorite?

On another note, I really need to get in on this and play some SNES games.

Between the 3 SNES titles I think I would have to say that the first X game is the best. Everything feels thought out and well balanced. The same can mostly be said for the second game but the level design just doesn't seem as memorable to me in it. I've only played thru X2 once but with X1 I wouldn't be surprised if I've beaten it up to 6 or 7 times. I'll let that speak for itself.

Including all the X games I'd say my top three are X1, X4, and Xtreme 2 if you want to check things out further.

If you're looking to play some more SNES games for this claim X2 and give it a go  Wink

Finally finished Equinox. This game was a smorgasbord of bad video game design. It's isometric perspective without shadows on the platforms so it's very hard to tell where to jump most of the time. Coupled with unforgiving collision detection and it got quite frustrating. Also any time you take a hit you have to restart the room - missed a jump, touched an enemy - back to the start of the room. Conveyor belt floors, hidden platforms, moving platforms all add to the frustration. There is hardly any interesting action and no story outside of the end and what's in the manual.

Oh and it's possible to soft lock yourself out of victory and have to restart the game. I had to force myself to finish this one. Should've let Shaggy have it

I'm not sure what I'll take next but I'll probably try to knock out some more racers and shmups when I have time

I'm going to combine the April video with the May one, because we did not beat a lot of games this month. Also, I'll probably stream sometime this Saturday if I can. Claiming F-Zero fyi

Choplifter III is completed. I enjoyed this one once I got the hang of it. Like a run and gun where you have to save hostages in each level.
