Wow,

who would have guessed that a team would win 3 road games (taking out the 1,2 and 3 seeds) on thier way to the Superbowl.

On top of that, congrats to the Seahawks. I honestly could not envision them winning. I mean the play in the NFC west of all places Huh (easy wins)

But I gotta give it to them. They placed stellar.

I heard an astounding peice of commentary last night.  Before the Pittsburgh - Denver game, ESPN was going through thier normal pre-game hype and they said no 6th seeded team has ever made it to the AFC Championship game.  Immediatly after that, they said that the Indy-Pittsburgh game was the first time a 6 seed beat a 1 seed......well no shit.  In order for a 6 seed to get to the championship, they have to play the 1 seed.  That's like saying hey, I get paid on Friday.  I also will recieve my check at the end of the work week.

So is this the first time you have ever listened to a football commentator?

Three things that I have always noticed is that they say something just to be talking, they often repeat information and they constantly get information wrong.

I hate sports commentators. They should get people like Regis and Kelly Rippin Lee (or whatever) to cast the games. That would be much more entertaining.

Obviously I think the Seahawks will win but I think it was pretty good to be the only one on this board to call the two teams going into the SB. Especially since it was before the semi-finals and Pitt was a long shot at that.

Oh boy, I can't wait to hear about Jerome Bettis all week.  In case no one here watches Sportscenter, Jerome Bettis grew up in Detroit and went to MacKenzie high school, and he still has strong ties to Detroit.  He also runs several charities that help inner-city youths in Detroit.  He's an all around stand up guy.

I woke up this morning at 7:00 a.m. and turned on the news and the first thing they were talking about was Jerome Bettis.  I decided then that I was going to keep track of how many times I hear someone in the media talking about "The Bus coming home ".  It's 9:41 and I'm up to 5.

my wife has had Bettis on her fantasy football team since way back when he was still with the Rams. I was the dumbass who traded him to her.

Sweet God of irony.  One of my friends gave me a call last night and said he had an extra ticket to a Superbowl party downtown at the Majestic theater on Thursday.  I of course said I would love to go and then asked who was hosting it.  His answer:

Jerome Bettis

Here is a link to the party.  If you look under upcoming concerts it's listed as Jerome Bettis Superbowling Party on 2/2.

I have a feeling I'll be spending quite a bit of time in the Xbox room trying to steal shit.  Wink

Ok people, who is doing what for the Superbowl?

More importantly, lets see what everybody thinks the score will be and if you want to name the MVP or other stuff, feel free.

I am going to post my predictions later.  Wink
