For those of you that have owned a home, the frist time is scary, isn't it?
A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I went to a bank to get pre-approved for a mortgage. We ended up being in a much better position than we anticipated, and contacted a relator the next day.
The day after that, we went out looking at homes with said relator and found a couple that we liked. We decided on one and two days later signed paperwork with the builder (it's a new home).
It's funny how fast things move. Friday we were thinking that we'd have to wait to buy a house, and then Tuesday we're committing to buying one that we thought would be out of our price range.
Today we went to the bank to finalize the mortgage paperwork and details. It almost feels like I'm signing away my paycheck for the next 30 years (which I guess essentially I am). We close next month.
Anyway, it's an exhilirating experience in life. At least now I have some room for that room of doom.
