Easy, consider the woman handicapped. If a handicapped person needs care and they have no proper medical care by law (usually) their immediate family (in household) is legally responsible for them. I know this because I'm currently my mom's soul caregiver (though there's my dad and siblings) but since I live with her if some fucked up shit happens I'm responsible.

But he was obviously feeding her. So they can't charge him for that.. What are they seriously going to get him with? Not carrying her to gym and hang food from a treadmill?
And Laurel being obese was recently admitted as a handicap i am pretty sure. I just dont get the world today...
