Really ive been on it for 4 days now and all that it seams to be is wander around get ignored by real people, get a "quest" that all seam to entail killing or collecting a certian thing and taking it back to them, Oh what joy.

Maybe im missing something but even when i have played it with my friend thats been on it for months its no diffrent just wonder, kill, collect, take back and repeat.

Cartianly wont be paying for it monthly when the trial runs out in 7 days

That's what I thought at first too, it seemed the most exciting thing was the /dance emote. But I gave it some time and it's really grown on me; like really grown on me, it's actually symbiotically attached to my left leg. Past level 12 or so when you move into Westfall it picks up. After my first instance run in the Deadmines I was snagged. Then I joined a fairly competent guild that has weddings and gives me stuff because they think I'm funny. And PVP is fun.

Damn, now I need to go play.

It can be a little tedious and dull at first, but after level 10 it really gets it's hooks in you.  Around level 18 you start running instances which is the meat of the game, but level 10 is were you start customizing your character.

PvP is much better than instances.  I just wish they would give you better rewards for the PvP stuff.

It doesn't matter any more with the new system though.  No one has to wait now that its cross server.

There is no one game that everyone likes, so everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However you may want to give it more of a chance.
Personally I've never played it, but might as well make the most of your free trial ey?

You may still hate it after that even, and fair enough. But I doubt the game is actually crap, we should save that description for games that truly are crap like ET on the 2600 and Perfect Assassin for PS1

ET...*shudder* brrr...the game that killed the industry in the early 80's...truly crap indeed.

I've never played WoW either. But a game would have to absolutely knock my socks off for me to be motivated to pay $10+/month just for the right to play it. I guess I fear that I'd feel that I wouldn't play it enough to get my money's worth out of it. For that reason I think I dodged a bullet with Phantasy Star Universe, I had it reserved but decided to take that $ out of it and put it to Gears of War instead.

I was worried about that too, but I was wrong.  I've been playing it for about 5 months now and I have over 250 hours on it.  It is very much like crack.

If you play WoW for 5 hours in a given month then it is cheaper than seeing a movie.

YES! I really don't like WoW. I've never played it, but the thing is that it sucked up the lives of many of my friends. Last year at school, all of my friends spent all their free time playing WoW and never did anything else. I was left alone without anything to do because my friends were all being stupid WoW addicts.

I never played it because I have a life. I have school, work, and other things to balance, and there just isn't a whole lot of time to play something like WoW.

For me WoW just takes the place of other games. I've said it before, even at $15 a month I spend less (nothing) on other games that I would normally be buying and playing. I've spent nothing on gaming since I bought WoW.

And I don't let it take over my life, I gamed just as much before I started WoW than I do now. I probably play 1-3 hours a day on average, usually at night before I go to bed.

When I started reading this, I thought your friends were some of those fatalities related to this game until I read further  slick

Doesn't PSU have an offiline mode to it too though like the original Phantasy Star Online on DC?
