Story book ending to kidnapping......

About 60 miles from St. Louis a 13 year old boy ( Ben Ownby) was abducted shortly after getting off the bus.  A massive search & flyers campaign began almost  immediately in the small town.
 
One boy who got off the bus at the same time said he seen a white truck speeding down the road just minutes after getting off the bus. He gave a good description of the truck.

A few days later ( today 01/12/07) in a small suburb of St. Louis a man was watching court TV and was thinking about the abduction. He was jogging a few days earlier and seen a truck that fit that description in an Apt. complex parking area. He decided to go back to where he had seen the truck. While he was there checking out the truck two police officers showed up with a search warrant for a completely different case.  The man told Police "Doesn't that look like the truck that has been described on the news." They checked it out and called the major case squad.

Yada Yada Yada, They finally got a search warrant to for this particular residence. They went inside found  Ben Ownsby alive and well. BUT, there was another boy in the APT. They asked him what is your name. He said " SHAWN HORNBECK" a kid that was abducted in 2002 from a small town about 60 miles from st. louis.

The Police couldn't believe it. The St. Louis area is SHOCKED as most people thought that hope was lost after 4 1/2 years.

The man arrested had lived there for 15 years and was a sex offender in Utah and did not register in St. Louis when he moved here.

Ok I have edited this, it turns out he was not a sex offender in Utah. They were wrong. It was someone else. He has only a few traffic violations.

BUT, why else would you kidnap a boy.  enough said.

Anyway I just thought that people would find this interesting.

Either way, he'll get his when he gets into the Prison system. They'll put him in a cell with "BUBBA".

I am very happy that these 2 boys were found. I can just imagine the joy on those mothers faces, Especially after 4 1/2 years. I hope this guy really gets what he deserves.

Glad it had a happy ending for two families with lost loved ones.  Most prisoners won't tolerate sex offenders especially pedophiles.  They end up going to smaller prisons whose concentration is all the same kind of criminals.  Camp Atterbury has a prison for sex offenders.  I think they should throw them all in together.  Let 'em receive what they deserve.
